Pervasive named Aruba
reseller of the year again
Pervasive Networks, part of Capita
Networking Solutions, has been named the
Aruba UK & Ireland reseller of the year for
the eighth time in 10 years. Helen Speak,
Aruba channel director, said: “Pervasive
is one of our longest standing partners in
the UK and continues to demonstrate its
capabilities in delivery of solutions using
our technology. We are delighted to stand
alongside Pervasive and support them as a
key UK Aruba partner.”
New marketing director for
UKFast
British cloud and hosting firm UKFast
has announced the appointment of
Kristina McGuirk as marketing director.
McGuirk joins the technology firm from
Dentsu Aegis agency Carat, where she
was responsible for the marketing of
clients in the retail, fashion, health and
beauty industries.
McGuirk joins an integrated in-house
team of marketeers, communications
professionals, events co-ordinators,
designers, video producers, sound engineers
and creatives.
Scotland’s largest data
centre
Ashfield Lane and TechRE are building
Scotland’s largest ever data centre to
help meet the country’s expanding data
storage and processing needs.
The 93-acre Pyramids Data Centre in
Bathgate, West Lothian is located on the
M8 Motorway just outside Edinburgh. The
facility will be developed in three phases
and will provide 250,000 sq ft of flexible,
modular space, with the potential to scale
up to 500,000 sq ft.

Advisory Group, said: “The market for
storage, collaboration and information
management tools is on an upward curve.
The Pyramids is well placed to capture
the increasing data storage, analytics and
processing requirements that will come
from an increase in adoption of cloud
technology as well as the IoT and emerging
technology such as connected cars.”
Running for Francis House
Employees of office technology provider Midshire took
part in the Great Manchester Run to support Francis
House Children’s Hospice, raising a total of £616 for
the charity. Eight members of staff, including engineers,
the marketing team and several sales staff, ran in
either the 10k race or the inaugural Half Marathon on
May 28, 2017.
Lancashire firm expands
offering with Toshiba TEC
Holker IT has expanded its service
offering by becoming an authorised
business partner of Toshiba TEC UK. In
addition to IT services, telephony and
security solutions, the Colne-based
company will now be able to offer
customers print and document solutions.
“This is a major development for
us,” said Matthew Metcalfe, managing
director at Holker IT. “We are now the sole
Toshiba partner for the area, which not
only adds strength to our reputation but
also significantly increases our offering to
clients of all sizes.”

Onecom wins major
industry award
Onecom took the title of Best Unified
Comms Dealer at the Mobile Industry
Awards (MIAs) in June. The award
recognises Onecom’s expertise in bringing
mobile, landline and internet services
together in one package and puts it in
the same company as household names
like Carphone Warehouse, Vodafone and
Samsung which also won MIAs.

Centerprise partners with
FusionPipe
Centerprise International, an IT reseller
based in Basingstoke, has partnered
with software company FusionPipe to
boost its position as an end-to-end ICT
solutions provider. FusionPipe specialises
in continuous authentication and data
security solutions using smartphone
and wearable applications. Its offering
replaces username/passwords, smart
cards and tokens and enables more
convenient and secure multi-factor
authentication based solely on end-user
proximity.
