J Promotions is a marketing and promotions agency that provides
its clients with complete one-stop-shop fully managed solutions.
The company effectively works just as an in-house marketing
team would, but at a fraction of the cost and typically with
results-based remuneration.
Whilst many of the company’s processes are online, including social
media management and email marketing, print still plays an important
role in the day-to-day running of the business. When the time came to
upgrade the printer in his home office, founder John Peters went for the
Ricoh SP 3110SFNw.
“I use the printer for a whole host of daily print tasks, from
producing client proofs, letters, invoices. Basically all everyday office
printing needs,” he said.
Already familiar with the Ricoh name, John had used their fax
machines in the mid to late ’90s and lives not far from one of their
factories.
“Living in Shropshire, I have passed the Ricoh factory next to
the M54 in Telford countless times and being a large locally based
manufacturer Ricoh is in the local press fairly often.”
With its space-saving design and enhanced features for productivity,
the SP 3110SFNw is ideal for small businesses and home offices.
“The printer has a fabulous small foot print, is extremely fast for
its class and has great quality print output. All of these were essential
for us.”
Reflecting on his choice, John is very happy he upgraded to an MFP
from Ricoh. “There is not really much comparison to my old printer as it
was about 8 years old; it’s a bit like comparing a sports car to a go-kart,
as the Ricoh is faster, has higher quality print output, the paper tray
holds more paper, it takes up less space and the cartridges are cheaper
and last longer.”
He added: “Once set-up, the machine has just always worked, I press
print and it prints, I press copy and it copies! So it’s easy to use on a
day-to-day basis.”
Now that John has discovered the Ricoh SP 3110SFNw, would he
recommend it to others? “Yes I would recommend this printer,” he said.
“I think it’s a great piece of kit.”

Ricoh portal
As well as generating interest for its
products through initiatives such as
these, Ricoh is continuing to develop
the Ricoh Print and AV blog (www.
ricohprintersandav.uk) where customers
can find out more about Ricoh products
and initiatives.
Providing a central point for
information on printers and projectors,
this portal has become increasingly
important as Ricoh has ramped up
its online and social media marketing
activities.
Steven Hastings, Ricoh IT Distribution
Channel Director, Indirect Sales, said:
“We have really upped our social media
presence in the last couple of years, and
I don’t think end users want one URL
to collect cash back, another URL to
learn about a different incentive and yet
another URL for warranties. Instead, we
want to have once central point where
customers can find details on products
and incentives and where resellers can
access channel-only sales support .”
The dedicated resource includes
information on printers, AV products
and specific MFPs that Ricoh is making
available from printer resellers.
Discover Ricoh
Hastings is confident that these
initiatives will help increase the visibility
and accessibility of Ricoh printers/MFPs
and the Ricoh brand for SMEs, corporates
and public sector organisations, allowing
more of them to ‘Discover Ricoh’.
Providing a
central point
for information
on printers
and projectors
has become
increasingly
important
“We need to make sure that our
products are as visible and as accessible
as they possibly can be. In the past
they might not have been, but this is
changing. The end user blog we have
built up and the amount of traffic it now
generates has made Ricoh much easier
for end users to find.”
