economy – and that’s great news for

Neopost has announced that all new
frankingmachines shipped from
March1will beMailmark ready.
Mailmark, the latest generation
of franking indicia fromRoyalMail,
incorporates a 2D barcode thatwill be
applied tomailpieces.Over time, all
frankedmail will carry this 2D barcode,
but existing franking formatswill remain
valid for a periodof time.

Investment supports
expansion
SecuredMail, the fastest growing
postal operator in thewholesalemail
andpacket sector,has secureda further
£5million funding fromgrowth capital
investorNextWavePartners to support
its expansionplans in2014.
The funding supports the development
of a new fully automatedmail sorting,
distribution andwarehouse Super Hub in
Luton,which SecuredMail is championing
as a centre of excellence and best practice
in the industry.
The companywill also be investing in
automation and infrastructure to improve
packet sortation at the Super Hub and
SecuredMail’sWarrington site.

33%postage savings
Highperformance lubricants
manufacturer RockOil has saved33%
(over £1,500) onpostage followinga
mailroomaudit byTotalpost Services Plc.
Totalpost’smailroom experts
undertook a full assessment of Rock
Oil’smailroomneeds and identified that
they couldmake significant savings by
switching from stamped to frankedmail.
The company sends out over 20,000
items ofmail each year,mainlymade
upof second class letters.Totalpost
projected that by using a franking
machine, RockOil could achieve savings
in excess of £3,000 a year.
Fivemonths into the project, £1,500
has already been saved andRockOil is on
track to exceed the initial predictions.
GregHewitt, Director at RockOil,
said:“Themailroom audit highlighted
some interestingfindings in terms of the
predicted savingswe couldmake.We
are very pleased that the savings have
exceededour expectations in the first
fivemonths of use.”
