Pukka Pads acquired the Liverpool-
basedmanufacturer of lever arch,
ring binder files and index dividers in
December last year, safeguarding 120
jobs. It has changed the company’s
name to Pukka Filing Products Ltd.
The new funding package provides
the businesswith a robust financial
platformonwhich to drive growth.

PaperlinXpledges
charity support
PaperlinXhas pledged its support to
thePaper IndustryCharitableTrust
(PICT). Itwillmakeamonthlydonation
of £1,000payabledirectly to the
charity throughout 2014 in lieuof
attending the functions PICTorganises.
“PICTorganises a number of sports
and social events throughout theUK,
aswell as hosting an annual industry
lunch, to raise funds to support its
charitable causes and approachedus
about getting involved,” said PaperlinX
Chief ExecutiveAndrew Price.
“A closer look revealed that over the
past three years, theTrust has paidout
around£12,000 per annum in grants
and donations andwe have agreed to
match that sum in2014.
“We’re delighted to support the
charity and this arrangement better
serves bothour needs. For PaperlinX,
it represents anoverall cost saving per
annum and, as 100%of themonieswe
donatewill benefit thosemost inneed,
theTrustwill be able to significantly
increase the grants it canmake,”he
said.
SouthPole success
Nineteenyear-oldpolar explorer and climate
change campaigner Parker Liautaudnot only
arrived safeand soundat theSouthPole
onhis recent expeditionbut alsoachieved
twoworld records.Withexpeditionpartner
DougStoup,he recorded the fastest-ever
unsupportedwalk from theedgeofAntarctica
to theSouthPoleandalsobecame the
youngestmanever to ski to theSouthPole.
Theworld record attempt involved the duo
walking some 506.12km (314.58miles) across
the trans-Antarcticmountain range, through
blizzards andmist in temperatures as low as
minus 50 degrees Celsius,while pulling sleds
weighingmore than80kg.They travelled for up
to12hours a day for 19 days, averaging 28km
per day.On arrival, Liautaud raised the Initiative
flag on behalf of sponsor IntegraOffice Solutions.
