Record breaking notebook
In a bid to become the Guinness World Record holder for the
world’s largest notebook, Nuco International is creating a 4ft
notepad, 300% larger than a standard A4 pad. The official
Guinness World Records adjudication will take place on April 26th
at the London Stationery Show. Nuco will then take the notebook
on tour, from one end of the country to the other, inviting
members of the public to write down a few words on ‘Why
#WritingMatters’ to them.
National StationeryWeek
sponsor Maped Helix is marking
the occasion by distributing free
stationery to children across the
Midlands.
From April 25 to May 1, the
stationery manufacturer is giving
all school trips to the Black Country
Living Museum a free stationery
pack to promote the importance of
handwriting.
Lianne Fletcher, marketing
manager at Maped Helix, said: “Our
history is ingrained in theWest
Midlands and we feel strongly about
our heritage in the region. It only
seemed appropriate for ourselves
and Black Country Living Museum
to celebrate this history together.”
She added: “We always look
for fresh new ways to engage
and collaborate with schools and
communities through learning
experiences. This partnership with
such a popular attraction was the
perfect opportunity to do just that
and help to educate children in our
area.”
Indoor air pollution worsens
Air purifier company Blueair has published
a new white paper looking at the impact of
climate change on indoor air quality and
advising what can be done to minimise the
health risk.
The report points out how extreme weather
events resulting from climate change, such
as heat waves, drought and wildfires, are
contributing to rising levels of greenhouse
gases, airborne allergens and outdoor air
pollution.
Indoor air quality is also affected, leading to
increased levels of infectious, respiratory and
cardiovascular diseases.
The white paper includes advice on how to
reduce the health impact of air pollution, from
breathing through your nose rather than your
mouth to the use of air purifiers to clean
indoor air.
Thirty-five years of the
Post-it Note
This year marks the 35th anniversary of the
iconic Canary Yellow Post-it Note – the sticky
note that quickly became an office staple.
Since 1981, the Post-it brand has continued to
expand and diversify and today there are more
than 1,000 Post-it Products in a multitude of
shapes, colours and sizes, from Post-it Flags
and Tabs for marking important passages in
printed documents to the Post-it Easel Pad for
brainstorming and collaboration. The feature
they all share is 3M’s repositionable adhesive,
which has given office workers a new way
of displaying, sharing and moving around
hand-written information without marking or
damaging other surfaces.
