Show your personality
Pukka Pads has added a dash of personality to
its new Electra range of professional pads, by
breaking up the grey covers with a colour strip
in blue, pink or teal. There is also the option of
hot foil or UV branding. The range includes A4
and A5 project books and jotters.
From paper to cloud
Wacom launched a number of new
smartpads at the IFA 2016 consumer
electronics show in September, including the
Bamboo Slate and Bamboo Folio.
Bamboo Slate is a slim digital notepad,
available in A4 and A5 versions, that’s perfect
for quickly noting down ideas. The A4 format
Bamboo Folio has an integrated cover with extra
slots for business cards and other documents.
Both new products connect to the new
Wacom Inkspace app, which stores digital notes
safely in the cloud and allows users to edit
and share them. In addition to the free app, a
paid-for Inkspace Plus subscription offers more
storage space, professional sharing in teams
and real-time collaboration in editable ink files.
Office workers continue to persist with
unhealthy workplace habits, despite
knowing they contribute to health problems
such as back ache, neck pain and eye strain,
claims office products supplier Fellowes.
In a survey of 1,000 office workers, 94%
said they sit for long periods without moving;
86% said they forget to give their eyes a break
from the computer screen; and 78% admit to
slouching at their desk.
These habits are having an effect on workers’
quality of life and productivity, with 25%
taking time off work due to health problems
associated with working at a computer and
45% taking medication.
Darryl Brunt, UK & Ireland Sales and
Marketing Director at Fellowes, said:
“Companies must do more to educate and
improve conditions for their staff, as not only
do they have a responsibility for their wellbeing,
but ultimately it benefits the business; a good
working environment is proven to increase
employee productivity and performance,
making a happier organisation all round.”
Make digital ink universal
Wacom, a leading manufacturer of interactive pen tablets and displays, has announced
plans to establish a Digital Stationery Consortium.
The objective of the consortium is to establish digital ink as a universal, open and smart
content format by promoting and managing digital ink formats based on theWacom Ink
Layer Language (WILL).
WILL digital ink technology ensures cross-compatibility of ink data, allowing businesses
and consumers to communicate and collaborate freely across digital devices, operating
systems, hardware platforms and cloud services.
Masahiko Yamada, President & CEO of Wacom, said: “Unifying various digital stationery
solutions under theWILL framework will reduce complexity and produce a richer user
experience by creating a seamless digital ink experience across every mobile device and
ecosystem. We received very positive feedback about launching this consortium while
conducting our initial industry outreach at Connected Ink events in Las Vegas and Shanghai.”

Psychedelic graphics
A new Limited Edition Notebook Collection
from Moleskine pays tribute to The Beatles
and the surreal imagery of the Yellow
Submarine movie. The Beatles Limited
Edition Notebook Collection, launched 50
years after the release of the film’s title
song Yellow Submarine, celebrates the
artistic contribution of the Beatles and the
artists and animators involved in the film.
Precise paper folding
Featured on the BBC’s
Dragon’s Den
in August,
Fold-Ease is a clever tool for those who regularly
fold paper and card. The thimble-like device sits
on a finger tip and glides over paper to produce
professional creases while protecting the finger
from a paper cut or friction burn. Fold-Ease
retails at £3.99 and is available from a range
of stockists and online from Amazon and the
product’s own website.
