Pen To Paper Questionnaire
Michael Reichhold,
Paperworld Director,
Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH
Paperworld 2016 highlights developments in
stationery, office supplies and working practices.
With a nine-strong team and responsibility for
developing Paperworld and Creativeworld for
Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH, what stationery
items does Paperworld Director Michael Reichhold
depend on and what does he like and not like
about today’s office technology? To find out, we
sent him the
Pen To Paper
questionnaire.
About your office
Is your office open plan or cellular?
I work in an individual office.
What is on your desk?
On my desk are a telephone, in-trays and out-trays, a hole punch, a stapler,
a pencil sharpener, paper clips, post-its, a stapler-remover, a letter opener,
markers, pencils, an India rubber, a fountain pen and a table lamp.
Do you carry a briefcase and if so what does it contain?
Yes, I use a leather briefcase. It usually contains documents to be worked on
at the moment, a fountain pen, a tablet, my mobile phone, an umbrella, my
wallet, my keys, and often snacks.
Technology and you
PC or Mac?
PC.
Notebook or tablet?
Tablet.
Android or iOS?
iOS.
Inkjet or laser printer?
Inkjet.
Paper-intensive or paper-free?
Paper-reduced.
What item of technology could you not function without?
Mobile phone.
Apart from the above, what software package or piece of equipment has
had the greatest impact on your productivity?
The daily e-mail input has by far the greatest impact on my work.
What is your greatest frustration with modern technology?
Modern technology is so fast that it often overtakes itself. Hardly is one
message reality than it is already out-of-date. This makes it difficult,
especially for the younger generation, to build up binding relationships, for
they are used to everything being in a state of flux and often they can only
rely on statements in the short-term.

PAPERWORLD
Paperworld 2016
Both exhibitions are taking place at Messe Frankfurt on
January 30 to February 2. According to the show organisers,
more than 1,000 companies from 56 countries have already
signed up to exhibit.
With its high level of international participation, Paperworld
offers companies the opportunity to develop new markets in
which to sell their products. For visitors, it provides a unique
opportunity to view the latest stationery products and learn
about emerging trends through a complementary programme of
lectures, panel discussions, awards and trend shows.
Paperworld Director Michael Reichhold said: “In 2016, we
will once again offer an attractive programme of highlights and
training events. In the heart of the business, Paperworld is a
source of information, inspiration and professional enrichment
for all participants, whether exhibitors, wholesalers, retailers,
buyers or trade association representatives.”
Remanexpo, a trade fair for remanufactured printer
consumables and accessories, will be returning to Hall 6.0.
New features include a Business Lounge, with exclusive office
facilities and exhibition space for companies who don’t want to
have their own exhibition stand, and a business matchmaking
programme that brings together the demand and supply sides
of the industry.
“The business matchmaking
programme is distinguished by
simplicity and highly effective results.
Initial discussions in the Remanexpo
sector were characterised by a very
positive echo. Many exhibitors are
interested and looking forward to a
programme that promotes business
relationships,” said Reichhold.
