Venturer brings RCA brand
to UK market
Venturer has brought a new range of RCA
Android tablets to the UK market. Part of
Alco Electronics, RCA is the third largest
tablet brand in the US. The first two RCA
tablets to be launched, the Mercury 7L
Quad Core 7-inch and Saturn 10 Pro 2-in-1
Quad Core 10.1-inch, are available in ASDA
stores and online.
Arcserve acquires Zetta
Arcserve, LLC, a provider of data
protection solutions, has acquired
enterprise-cloud disaster recovery
provider Zetta. Mike Crest, CEO of
Arcserve, said: “The acquisition of
Zetta advances our cloud solution with
technology, data centres and expertise
that places Arcserve at the forefront of
the backup and recovery industry.”
New CFO for Rackspace
Rackspace has announced the
appointment of Louis Alterman as its
new Executive Vice President and Chief
Financial Officer. He will report to Joe
Eazor, Rackspace’s newly appointed CEO.
Prior to joining Rackspace, Alterman
served as CFO of EarthLink, an internet
pioneer that successfully transitioned into
cloud networking.
Zoho launches all-in-one
app suite
Zoho, a provider of online productivity tools
and SaaS applications for businesses, has
launched a new application suite. Zoho
One brings together more than 70 sales,
marketing, accounting, HR and productivity
and collaboration applications in one
integrated suite that can be used to run an
entire business. Zoho One is available from
£1 per day, per employee.
Channel incentive
programme launched by NEC
NEC Display Solutions Europe has
launched SolutionsPLUSMORE, a
web-based incentive programme to run
alongside its established SolutionsPLUS
channel partner programme. A dedicated
website will give channel partners
details of different target levels, their
progress towards those targets and the
rewards available to them.
Helen Sheldrake, Channel Sales
Manager at NEC Display Solutions,
said: “We are entirely committed to
our channel partners and our new
incentive programme is designed to
reward them for their commitment to us.
The SolutionsPLUSMORE programme
is a natural extension to our existing
SolutionsPLUS channel partner programme
and we are delighted to be able to offer it
as an added bonus for working with NEC.”
Midshire acquired by Sharp
Sharp Business Systems UK (SBSUK) has acquired Midshire Business Systems Ltd and
Midshire Business Systems (Northern) Ltd, together known as Midshire.
The acquisition of the technology reseller based in Birmingham, Stockport and Cardiff
will give SBSUK a presence in Wales and will strengthen its ability to sell its growing portfolio
of Business Solutions to the commercial and public sector.
Sharp’s Business Solutions range includes Document Solutions (MFPs, print
management and document management software), Visual Solutions (interactive and
professional displays) and IT Services.
Midshire will continue to operate as an independent business under its own brand name,
and the existing management and reporting structures will remain in place.
Kaseya launches new
Powered Services
Kaseya, a provider of IT management
solutions for managed service providers
(MSPs) and mid-market enterprises,
has launched a number of Kaseya
Powered Services that make it easier
for MSPs to create new services and
increase monthly recurring revenue.
The ‘Go-to-Market-in-a-Box’ offerings
include AuthAnvil Security-as-a-Service
(SECaaS) and Traverse Network
Monitoring-as-a-Service (NmaaS).
Jim Lippie, General Manager of cloud
computing at Kaseya, said: “The beauty of
Kaseya Powered Services is that it allows
MSPs to go to market with new services
lines at record speed and generate
immediate revenue gains. We provide
everything an MSP needs, including
positioning, sales training, pricing,
packaging and lead generation.”
He added: “Our first two instalments of
end user security and network monitoring
as a service are only the beginning. We
have big plans for this ‘in-the-box’ delivery
system for many of our award-winning
products, including the release this Autumn
of our cloud management as a service
based on Unigma.”
New head of technology for BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions UK
BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions UK has appointed Mike Quinn as its new Head of
Technology Solutions (TS), taking over from Russ Pettifer. Quinn previously held the
position of head of risk at the company.
Commenting on his new role, Quinn said: “As businesses realise the sustainable and
cost-effective benefits of financing hardware and software rather than outright purchase, IT
equipment funding solutions are on the rise. I’m looking forward to continuing to grow the
BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions TS division and to helping our partners meet increasing end
user demand for flexible finance options.”
Sharp has strengthened its visual solutions
business with the appointment of Birgit
Jackson (formerly Sommerer) as its first ever
Commercial Director for Visual Solutions.
In her new role, Jackson will be responsible
for developing Sharp’s product line-up for
European sales regions. She joins Sharp
from NEC where she worked for almost
nine years, rising to Head of the Product
Management Team.
