ROLLERBALL
PENS
DRYING
Write, erase and write again
Mitsubishi Pencil Co. has become
the latest pen supplier to launch
an eraseable rollerball, the uni-ball
Fanthom.
Rubbing the pen's cap over text
makes it disappear instantly, removing
the need for correction fuid and tape.
The secret is a special ink that disappears
when a certain temperature is achieved
through friction. It comes in six colours
and is available loose or in a variety
of single, twin and triple packs.
Prices start at £2.39.

Authoritative, assertive, exacting, masculine are some of the words Parker uses
to describe the new Parker Premier Black Edition. Made with a distinctive black
nickel palladium and ceramic coating with matt black trims, the pen is the only
Parker writing instrument with a vertically brushed fnish for a super-smooth feel.
The hand-crafted 18 carat solid gold nib is plated with durable, scratch-resistant
ruthenium. The Black Edition is available in three versions: fountain pen, rollerball
and ballpoint. Prices start at £160.
The black prince of pens
It's a topsy-turvy world
Following the break-through of
eraseable ink (see uni-ball story
below), which has brought a major
beneft of lead pencils – erasability
– to ink pens, Newell Rubbermaid
has announced a revolutionary
development that brings the
advantages of ink to pencils.
The Sharpie Liquid Pencil overcomes
the need to sharpen pencils and the
problem of broken leads. Thanks to a
new liquid graphite formulation, it can
write like a pen, but still be erased like a
pencil – as long as it's done within three
days after which your scribbles become
permanent.
The liquid pencil has a line width
comparable to a 0.5mm No. 2 pencil
and, unlike lead pencils, does not change
shape with use.
