For those who couldn’t get across to
the ISE in Amsterdam, the BETT Show,
held in London on January 25-28,
was the next best place to see the
latest display technologies. Although
BETT is above all an education show,
some of the products on display also
have applications in the business
world. Here, Tayla Ansell picks out the
presentation products that caught
her eye.
BenQ
A highlight of BenQ’s stand was its new
RP750K 4K UHD Interactive Flat Panel
Display. The 75-inch panel comes with
a built-in Android operating system and
up to 20-point multi-touch interactivity.
Combined with BenQ’s EZWrite 4.0 and
NFCPen, it offers extensive note-taking
and idea-sharing capabilities, ideal for
efficient meetings as well as teaching/
learning applications.
Speaking to
Business Info
about
BenQ’s evolving product portfolio, AV
Product Manager Chris Moore said:
“We are display experts, and now we’re
trying to be collaboration experts too.”
Backing this up, he produced a brochure
on the company’s new InstaShow
wireless presentation device. Similar
to Barco’s Clickshare, this no-software
solution enables multiple individuals to
present on any device with the click of
a button.
Sony
Sony’s stand focused on higher
education and the evolving learning
environment, notably the transition
from ‘one-way’ lectures to more active
learning methods. In this context, Sony
demonstrated Vision Presenter, which
enables a teacher/presenter to pull
together a range of media sources, such
as videos, presentations, still images
and web content, and display them all
together on one screen/display.
The week after BETT, on February
1, Sony launched Vision Exchange, a
new collaboration solution for higher
education and corporate conference
rooms. Vision Exchange creates a
dynamic environment where teams can
brainstorm and work collaboratively,
wirelessly sharing content from
participants’ laptops or tablets.
In a corporate setting, a Remote
Communication option lets workgroups
connect to other sites using standards-
based videoconferencing
systems.
Barco
Barco showcased its weConnect
collaborative learning solution for
higher education. The cloud-based
system enables users to collaborate in
a lecture, for example by sharing their
screen content and answering poll or
quiz questions issued by the teacher.
This is also a useful tool for corporate
training, as it allows everyone to connect
personal devices to the central meeting
room screen, facilitating interaction and
information exchange.
NEC
Visitors to NEC’s suite were treated
to a preview of its new InfinityBoard,
a versatile display solution that can
be used in education, but is mainly
designed for interactive workspaces and
huddle rooms. Applications include video
conferencing, creative brainstorming,
presenting, reviewing and collaboration.
The ultra-high definition (UHD) large
format display (65 or 84in) uses InGlass
touch technology, offering an intuitive
touch experience with both finger
and pen, and the ability to erase with

your palm. The InfinityBoard supports
wireless presentation, screen-to-device
and screen-to-screen interaction. Using
NEC’s MultiPresenter function, it also
supports bring your own device (BYOD)
initiatives.
Nureva
One whole wall on Nureva’s stand
was taken up with its impressive Span
visual collaboration system. Offering
much more collaboration space than
an interactive whiteboard or flat panel
display, Span combines a solid state
illumination (SSI) projector with an
expansive cloud-based canvas which
is projected onto a wall and accessible
from personal devices, enabling groups
to create, share and edit ideas. Up to 10
people can work together, filling the wall
with digital sticky notes, images and text.
All work is saved in the cloud, meaning
it’s always accessible and up to date. If
required, team members can collaborate
in real-time from different locations,
removing the need for costly travel.
The latest addition to the product
line, theWM307i, features a full
HD solid state interactive projector.
Combined with a customer-supplied
PC, theWM307i creates a 2.13 m wide
interactive digital wall.
