Automatic authentication
An alternative voice biometrics solution,
NICE Real-Time Authentication, even
removes the need for customers to
remember and repeat a specific phrase by
validating customers as they conduct a
conversation with an agent.
NICE’s patent-pending Seamless Passive
Enrollment process uses a customer’s previous
call recordings to create a voice print and to
automatically confirm the caller’s identity in
less than 15 seconds, compared to 60 seconds
for alternative verification systems.
Yochai Rozenblat, President of the NICE
Enterprise Group, said: “Most voice-based
projects have failed because they put a burden
on the customer to set up their voice-enabled
profiles in advance – an additional time-
consuming task.With NICE’s Seamless Passive
Enrollment, if a customer has called before,
they can be automatically authenticated using
their voice the very next time they call.”
Feedback in an
instant
The Luxury Academy has launched a
quick and convenient alternative to
paper feedback forms in hotels and
restaurants that can help managers
resolve complaints before a guest’s
bad experience generates negative
publicity, for example through poor
online reviews.
Engage! Instant Feedback for
touchscreen tablets enables businesses
to collect comments from clients on the
spot. Taking just seconds to complete, it
is based on a maximum of five questions
and a star rating system.
Tablets could be placed at convenient
points around a hotel, conference centre,
spa, gym, bar or restaurant. Alternatively, a
waiter could bring a tablet pre-loaded with
Engage! Instant Feedback with the bill.
Useful features include a reports
dashboard for feedback analysis and an
alert function that automatically sends
an email to a manager’s smartphone
or to the guest services department
whenever a poor rating is submitted. This
enables a business to react while the
guest or customer is still on the premises.
Brother document
management software
Brother has launched BR-Docs, a cloud-
based, document management solution
that enables businesses to digitise and
manage workloads more effectively via a
secure online portal.
Offered as a free three-month trial with all
Brother scanner purchases, the software lets
users manage, share and store documents in
one secure place, accessible from a range of
devices, including laptops, desktops, mobiles
and tablets.
The solution is available in two versions:
BR-Docs Personal for up to three users and
BR-Docs Team for up to 10 users.
Display company E Ink Holdings has launched its
largest ePaper module to date. Measuring 32 inches
diagonally and available in black and white or colour,
the new display is almost 25 times the size of an
eReader. Multiple modules can be tiled together to
create a much larger display.
The 32in module has the same ultra-low power
properties as other E Ink displays and is readable in
all light conditions, including sunlight, making it ideal
for digital signage and information kiosks in areas
unsuitable for standard emissive displays.
It was developed in cooperation with Global Display
Solutions (GDS), a world leader in the deployment
of green display technologies for outdoor and indoor
digital signage applications.
Andrea Ongaro, CTO for GDS, said: “Using E Ink
technology, we were able to design an outdoor display
that is only a few millimetres thick with very low
power consumption and without fan noise. We believe
this product can replace existing LCD and LED displays
for many applications in the digital signage market, as
well as open up new markets that are looking for green
display technology.”
