The Snap fine point stylus from Adonit
is specially designed for taking selfies,
editing photos and creating drawings on
smartphones. When paired with an iOS or
Android phone via Bluetooth, Snap can
be used as a remote photo clicker. Snap
is charged via USB and features a small
1.9mm Pixelpoint tip. Its thin 4.3mm body
magnetically attaches to the phone’s rear
for easy storage.
Back-up power
Eaton says its new Connected UPS and
power distribution solution is ideal for data
centres, hospitals, airports and mission-
critical applications that require UPS back-
up to guarantee reliable and continuous
electrical power. By integrating components
into a single, pre-designed solution, Eaton
claims to have simplified installation and
improved reliability and availability.
Easy WiFi upgrade
Networking equipment provider NETGEAR
has launched a plug-and-play solution
for small and home offices that require
just one or two WiFi access points. The
standalone NETGEAR Dual Band 802.11ac
Wireless Access Point (WAC104) is a quick
and easy way to improve WiFi coverage
and upgrade an existing router or ISP box
to the latest 802.11ac WiFi technology. It
supports dual band concurrent operation
with combined throughput of up to
1.2Gbps, up to four times the speed of
previous-generation 802.11n networks.
It can be wall- or desk-mounted and is
interoperable with new and legacy laptops,
smartphones, tablets, VoIP phones and
surveillance cameras. With four Ethernet
ports, a single access point can also
connect up to four wired devices.
Desktop 3D printing
Ultimaker claims to have made
professional 3D printing more accessible
with the launch of its Ultimaker 3 desktop
printer. Key features include an unlimited
number of geometry options; high uptime
and performance due to its material-
matching print core design; enhanced
printer automation, with smart material
detection through NFC technology, as well
as active bed levelling; and advanced
connectivity, with integrated WiFi, USB and
Ethernet connections and a built-in camera
for remote monitoring of print output.
High-volume scanning
Panasonic has introduced two high-speed,
high volume A3 scanners. The KV-S8127
and KV-S8147 have scan speeds of 120
and 140 pages per minute respectively
and come with a number of productivity
enhancing features, such as auto-preview,
auto-rescan, remote central management
software and in-built image processing.
Both models have a high capacity
automatic document feeder (ADF) for high-
volume duplex scanning of up to 750 A4
and 500 A3 sheets in one operation.
