WHAT’S NEW
Living logos
Exaprint, an online print platform for graphic
designers, print professionals and marketing
agencies, has launched a ‘Living Logos’ range
that lets businesses create eye-catching
logos made from either dark green moss or
reindeer lichen available in a range of eight
colours. Living Logos consist of a ‘stabilised’
plant, in which the sap has been replaced
with a glycerine-based substance, enclosed
within a 19mm thick white PVC outline. They
are available in any size between 25 and
18,000cm
2
and can last for up to ten years.
KYOCERA Document
Solutions has announced
two HyPAS apps for scanning
to and printing from cloud
storage. Cloud Direct (£100
per MFD licence) provides a
direct connection to Google
Drive, Dropbox and internet
fax for scanning to/printing
from cloud storage via the
control panel of HyPAS-
enabled KYOCERA MFDs.
The app comes in separate
versions for Google Drive
and Dropbox, with the ability
to link cloud login and MFD
authentication details for
single sign-on.
The second new app,
KYOCERA Cloud Print (£135
per MFD licence) provides a
direct connection to Google
Cloud Print, Google Docs and
Google Apps for easy printing
from tablets, smartphones
and PCs. Integration
with user authentication
solutions, such as PaperCut,
Equitrac and SafeCom, lets
organisations keep mobile
printing under control.
130 million and counting
Brother UK registered 130 million prints on its iPrint&Scan
app in 2014, up 97% on the previous year. The app enables
iPhone, Android or Windows Phone users to scan to and print
from a Brother printer connected to the same network. More
than 4.4 million users have downloaded the app, printing an
average of 3 pages per user, per month.
A good finisher
DSales’ new ineo+ 3850FS
A4 colour MFP comes with an
integrated document finisher
providing stapling, offset sorting
and offset grouping. As well as
enabling small workgroups to
produce professional looking
colour documents on demand,
the finisher prevents documents
from getting mixed up in the
output tray. The MFP itself has
an output speed of 38 pages
per minute and a standard
paper capacity of 650 sheets
(expandable to 1,650 sheets).
It comes with a 7in full colour
touchscreen, 1 GB of memory, a
320GB hard disk and a PCL and
PostScript print controller.
Fast track
Brother is expanding its range
of 100 pages per minute mono
printers – the fastest on the
market – with two new models.
In addition, it has enhanced its
existing model, the HL-S7000DN,
with a new paper tray so that
users in the healthcare sector
can switch between printing
prescriptions and letterhead
without having to change tray.
The inkjet printers are designed
for high volume, low-cost printing.
They have a monthly duty cycle of
up to 20,000 pages and a cost per
page of just 0.51p.
Epson has become an Official Team Partner of the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team.
Its logo will be shown on race cars, with additional branding on the helmets and race-suits of team
drivers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg.
