Print now to avoid regret
Almost half (44%) of British adults have lost a digital photo they wish they had printed, with ‘losing/
breaking hardware’ and ‘accidentally deleting photos’ being the most common ways to lose images.
According to a YouGov survey commissioned by Jessops to mark the launch of its new online photo printing
service, 21% of British adults have never printed a photo. Nearly one in ten (8%) print a photo at least once
a month. Jessops’ new website makes printing photos easy, with the option to have prints delivered to a
home address or to the nearest Jessops store for collection within 25 minutes.
Be more productive with new TASKalfas
KYOCERA Document Solutions has launched
10 new TASKalfa A3 MFPs, five colour and
five monochrome, designed to reduce money
wasted on inefficient procedures.
Nigel Allen, Marketing Director at KYOCERA
Document Solutions UK, said: “When it comes
to document management, money is wasted
in several areas: printing is outsourced due to
the limited capabilities of in-house printers and
MFPs; toner supply is haphazard and inefficient
due to not being managed properly; and many
separate single-function devices are used
inefficiently due to document workflows
not having been optimised.”
The new devices
come with a range
of features and
options designed
to address these
inefficiencies.
For example, to reduce
the need to outsource
print jobs, four of the
five new colour MFPs
have an optional
Fiery print controller,
as well as the ability to print on special paper
sizes such as SRA3, banner paper, tab divider
sheets and paper of up to 300gsm.
To improve consumables management,
the new TASKalfa 6052ci and 6002i series
feature a toner lock that prevents users from
exchanging toners before it is time to do so.
Using the new fleet management and service
tool KYOCERA Fleet Services (see panel), the
required amount of toner is delivered when and
where needed, without customers needing to
call a service provider,
The TASKalfa 2552ci/3252ci/4052ci
/5052ci/6052ci and TASKalfa 3011i/
3511i/4002i/5002i/6002i have print
speeds from 25 to 60ppm, 1200 x
1200 dpi output at full engine speed
and improved colour print quality
thanks to a newly developed toner with
a wider colour gamut.
The new devices are also
available from UTAX.

OKI creates new car livery for Mat Jackson
To mark its sponsorship of the
Motorbase Performance Team,
OKI has created a new car
livery for Dunlop MSA British
Touring Car Championship
driver Mat Jackson.
Printed on an OKI Colour
Painter wide-format printer, the
livery was used for the last
two rounds of the season at
the Silverstone race weekend
(September 17-18) and the
Brands Hatch GP (October 1-2).
OKI is now inviting designers
to create their own car wrap
and upload it to the Print My
Ride website, which goes live
on October 11. There, they can
apply it to a virtual car, enjoy
3D views from all angles and
upload showroom photos for
judging by an expert panel.
Prizes on offer range from
a model car wrapped in the
winner’s design to an ‘all
expenses paid’ trip to a 2017
Formula One Grand Prix event.
With you in a dash
Samsung has announced
that its customers will be
able to order print supplies
from Amazon automatically
following the launch of Amazon
Dash in the UK.
When connected printers
and MFPs signed up to the
Amazon Dash Replenishment
service detect low toner and
ink levels, they automatically
send notifications to Samsung
Cloud Print, which then relays
them to Amazon so that
it can deliver the required
replacements.
Customers can sign up for
Dash Replenishment through
Samsung’s Mobile Print app.
David SW Song, Senior Vice
President of Printing Solutions
Business at Samsung
Electronics, said: “Initially
this service was available to
our U.S. customers. We are
pleased to announce that
Dash Replenishment options
are now available to our
customers in Germany and the
UK as well.”
Dash Replenishment is
available with a range of
Samsung home office printers
and MFPs.
KYOCERA Fleet Services (KFS)
is a new remote maintenance
and management tool hosted
in the KYOCERA Cloud that
enables dealers and service
providers to remotely monitor,
manage and maintain their
customers’ network devices.
A KFS subscription is
expected to drastically reduce
the number of customer visits
dealers and service providers
need to make, while also
maximising device uptime and
customer productivity.
It allows users remotely
to configure, maintain and
troubleshoot customer devices
and gather meter readings for
billing purposes. Even if a site
visit is required, information
gathered remotely means
service technicians will have
the parts to fix the problem.
KFS also aids supplies
management by providing real-
time information on toner levels
and email notifications when
supplies are low.
