Double monitor alternative
The EX341R from NEC Display Solutions
Europe is a 34-inch curved widescreen
desktop monitor developed for industries
where large displays are central to the
user’s day-to-day activities. The seamless
80cm curved screen provides a wide,
flexible working space for efficiently
handling large amounts of information. A
single display could replace two 24in or
three 19in displays, eliminating bezel gaps
and cabling.
Flexible live streaming
Lifesize Live Stream gives organisations
cost-effective, flexible and secure HD
streaming to connect with audiences across
multiple locations. The easy-to-use solution
allows IT administrators to enable an
unlimited number of Lifesize virtual meeting
rooms to live stream events simultaneously.
It supports up to 10,000 viewers and
50 video-enabled sites per event. To
promote active participation from audience
members, Lifesize Live Stream offers a
real-time Q&A feature that lets viewers ask
questions directly from the live streaming
page.
Interactive window display
AIRxTOUCH bar is a new digital signage
solution that enables a shop window to
become an interactive display. Developed
by iNUI Studio and commercialised in
Europe in partnership with Samsung, the
solution turns a regular screen into an
interactive display and allows brands and
stores to attract the attention of passers-by.
The plug-and-play bar works like any other
touch device but doesn’t need any physical
contact with the surface. It can work
through double and triple glazing and even
armoured glass.
Cheque scanning
Canon has added three cheque scanners
to its imageFORMULA range, the CR-
150, CR-120 and CR-120 UV. The
imageFORMULA CR-150 and CR-120
are capable of accurately scanning up to
12,000 cheques per day, with up to 150
or 120 cheques processed per minute
respectively. The imageFORMULA CR-120
UV adds an additional layer of security
to the scanning process, using built-in
ultraviolet sensors to detect fraudulent
information. It can process a regular
image of a cheque and a UV image
simultaneously.
What’s New
Tailored sound
Audeara headphones are the world’s first
full fidelity headphones with an in-built
hearing test to protect users’ ears. The first
time the headphones are worn, the user
undertakes a hearing test with the help of
the Audeara app. The results are then used
to adjust the sound signal for each ear.
The result of the audiogram is saved and
the user can update their hearing profile
by re-testing anytime. Audeara reached
its crowdfunding goal on Kickstarter in
the first 24 hours and hopes to ship to
backers in July.
High brightness laser
The PT-RZ21K is Panasonic’s 3-chip DLP
SOLID SHINE laser series aimed at the
rental, events and large venue market. The
series consists of the PT-RZ21K (WUXGA)
and the RS21K (SXGA+) and generates up
to 20,000lm of brightness using solid-state
laser drives. A dust-proof optical system
means that the projector offers extended
maintenance-free operation beyond
lamped rivals. The PT-RZ21K is set for
release in Autumn 2017.
