Now in its eighth year, it provides a forum where buyers and retailers can see the biggest brands alongside start-ups and up-and-coming designers. Here are a few of the products that caught the eye of stationery lover Tayla Ansell The write stuff A taste of Brazil Brazilian brand Otima used the show to introduce its stylish stationery products to the UK market. Its product portfolio includes planners, sticky notes, journals, notebooks, organiser boxes, clipboards, deskpads & notepads, pencil cases, card & envelope sets and desktop accessories. Its new Noir collection features 50 stationery items in an elegant black design with gold hyphen, pinstripe and quill details. www.otima. com.br Handy dispenser Show debutante TapePal was demonstrating a hand-held tape dispenser that attaches to a roll of 25mm wide sticky tape. Unlike bulky desktop dispensers, TapePal is compact and easy to store in a drawer when not in use. It’s also a more sustainable option than small plastic dispensers that are thrown away when the tape runs out. www.tapepal.co.uk Fun filing Pukka Pads displayed new additions to its Metallic range of notebooks and pads, including A4 and B5 project books and a new B5 size jotter. The range is twin wire-bound, with 80gsm, 8mm lined paper. Project books also include colour coded, re-positionable dividers. In addition, Pukka Pads was showing new Campervan Box Files, which, when lined up on a shelf, create the image of a campervan. www.pukka-pads.co.uk Brand refresh PostSafe has been the market leader in the polythene envelope sector for 40 years and has recently updated the brand with a rejuvenated leadership team and fresh new branding. It used LSS to highlight the marketing possibilities of plastic envelopes, which are now available in metallic colours, a biodegradable range and bespoke designs. www.postsafe.co.uk Just for you Nu: Notebooks launched a new range of stylish journals, the Nu: Journal range.With the brightly coloured Spectrum range and the more natural Linen range, there is now a journal to suit all tastes. The LabelWriter Wireless can print labels directly from PCs, smartphones and tablets over WiFi. The device uses direct thermal print technology, removing the need for ink or toner. Users can design and print labels using free Dymo Label Software for Mac and PC or the free DYMO Connect mobile app for smartphones and tablets. www.dymo.com Popular pens Pentel’s EnerGel Xm Retractable pen is now available in 12 vibrant ink colours (black, red, blue green, brown, orange, pink, sky blue, violet, turquoise, lime green and blue/black), giving users more choice for colour-coding, drawing and journaling. Its liquid gel ink is smooth-flowing and quick-drying, producing smudge-free results for both right and left-handed users. Pentel was also showing its successful Hybrid Dual Metallic pen range, which achieved sales of more than a quarter of a million pens in its first year.
