Pen To Paper Magazine - Autumn 2019

P2P Magazine | 07 www.p2pmag.co.uk Created in cooperation with HP’s specialist printing system, the COLOP e-mark is a multifunctional office tool for stamping printed documents and marking folders or office equipment. The e-mark allows colour designs to be applied with ease onto absorbent material, including paper, books, cartons, serviettes, paper bags and wood. It also works perfectly with COLOP labels. Individual imprints can be created in an app, saved and transferred to the marking device viaWi-Fi from a smartphone/tablet or via USB cable from a PC. The e-mark generates its ownWi-Fi network, through which it connects wirelessly to a mobile device, such as a smartphone or tablet. Imprints are transferred quickly and can be printed immediately. Feature-rich Rotating LEDs around the e-mark indicate its current state and connectivity to the mobile device, while markings on the side of the e-mark ensure reliable positioning on documents, with the help of advanced sensor technology. A transparent window in the front provides a better view of the imprint during marking and a notch in the middle of the marking shows the centre line of the imprint. The e-mark features an inbuilt quick- charging Li-ion battery, providing four and a half hours of continuous marking, and easily replaceable cartridges for high quality, full colour imprints. The printhead is integrated within the cartridge and visible on the bottom of the e-mark. Each cartridge will produce around 5,000 prints. Special functions The free app, downloadable from Google Play or the App Store, offers a number of additional functions, such as automatic date, time and numbering; QR and barcode generation; and a set of predefined templates designed to simplify office work. The inherent ease of use of both the app and the e-mark itself makes it quick and easy for users to design, amend and store impressions and then, with a simple sideways movement, print full-colour designs, including text, images, company logos, barcodes and QR codes, onto a wide range of absorbent materials. In contrast to conventional stamps, a single line impression can extend up to 150mm in length and be repeated any number of times with a sideways movement. The only limitation is the height of a row, currently 14mm. COLOP’s e-mark has already been recognised for its innovation and design, receiving an Honourable Mention in the Product Design category of the prestigious Red Dot Award 2019. One of the world’s largest design competitions, with more than 5,500 submissions from designers and manufacturers in 55 nations, Red Dot rewards products for their innovation, functionality, formal quality, longevity and ergonomics. www.e-mark.co.uk e-mark applications n Mobile use : create, change and transfer full colour imprints to the e-mark for quick and easy printing anytime, anywhere. n In the office : stamp printed documents directly and mark folders and office equipment. n Personalisation and marketing : personalise folders, envelopes and bags – perfect for marketing purposes. n Logistics : mark packages, labels or documents with barcodes, article numbers and other information. With an inbuilt battery and app-based QR and barcode generator, e-mark can be used anywhere. n Labelling : use labels to mark non- absorbent surfaces, such as plastics, glass or metal.
