While the sense of déjà vu is very strong is some respects, in others – and here I am speaking strictly with my business hat on – I believe we are in a better position than we were this time last year. In the last 12 months, organisations of all sizes have accelerated their digital transformation programmes and strengthened their business resilience to ensure they have the flexibility and infrastructure to cope with business disruption, whatever its source. Much of these initiatives have been facilitated by the knowledge and drive of technology providers. Earlier this month, at the PrintIT Reseller Awards, Kingswood Media celebrated the efforts of managed print service providers in helping customers make the transition to remote working, and next year we will be holding the inaugural Technology Reseller Awards for the IT channel. Organised by Technology Reseller magazine, these are an opportunity for everyone in the industry to honour IT industry professionals, resellers/MSPs, distributors and vendors that have delivered exceptional performance or service levels over the last year. Although this is very much an IT industry celebration, end user organisations, like the readers of Business Info, can play their part by encouraging IT suppliers and managed service providers that have exceeded their expectations on some major project or initiative to enter the awards and gain the recognition they deserve for their achievements. If there is one good thing to have come out of the last two years, it is the closer relationships that many businesses now enjoy with suppliers that helped them maintain operations during the first lockdown in March 2020 and are now guiding them through the digital transformation that all businesses will need to undertake in order to remain competitive in the years ahead. You can find out more about the awards at www.technologyresellerawards.co.uk. It just remains for me, and the entire team at Business Info, to wish all our readers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. See you in 2022. James Goulding, Editor, [email protected] 03 magazine
