Panasonic re-organises voice, image and text division
Panasonic has extended its Communications
Solutions Division to cover a broader range
of business products, solutions and services
as part of its reorganisation under the new
Panasonic System Communications Company
Europe (PSCEU).
Among the business products now managed
by the division, which specialises in voice, image
and text, are document scanners, desktop printers
(see caption), advanced network MFPs, PBX
and SIP telephony and Panasonic’s HD Visual
Communications System (HDVC) for video
conferencing and multisite communication.
As well as providing a broad range of products,
the new division is able to integrate services and
third party products into custom-made solutions,
with project management of multi-site/multi-
country rollouts and global pricing agreements.
Panasonic System Communications
Company Europe (PSCEU) recently integrated
12 B2B product categories and services into
one organisation, providing customers with a
single point of contact for sales and project
management. PSCEU is made up of four business
divisions, including the Communications
Solutions division. The other three are:
n
Computer Product Solutions, including
Toughbook rugged notebooks, Toughpad
business tablets and electronic point of sale
systems;
n

interactive whiteboards, presentation aids and
displays; and
n
Professional Camera Solutions including
professional audio visual and security products.

Toshiba TEC UK Imaging Systems has announced the
availability of a new range of Cloud Ready multifunction
products (MFPs) that can scan straight to cloud-based
services such as Google Docs. A new software connector
allows users to scan documents on a Toshiba e-BRIDGE X
series colour MFP directly into their Google Docs account
from where they can be accessed on any internet-enabled
device.When used with Toshiba’s e-BRIDGE Re-Rite software,
scans can be converted into editable and searchable formats
such as MSWord and MS Excel. Toshiba already offers
connectors for Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft SharePoint
that allow users to start automated workflows from the MFP.

The KX-MB1500 series of multifunctional laser
printers is now available from the Panasonic
Communications Solutions Division. Featuring
a tiny footprint and three-in-one functionality,
this 18ppm mono all-in-one is aimed at micro
businesses and home users who require pin-
sharp laser output with the flexibility of a colour
scanner. The KX-MB1520 also features a fax and
speakerphone. By integrating the output tray
within the body of the printer, Panasonic has
been able to reduce the device’s footprint by 25%
and its volume by 40%. Another useful feature is
the slanted control panel for easy operation from
a seated position and an Easy Print Utility that
makes it possible to merge and print files created
in different applications.
