technologyreseller.co.uk TELEPHONY Paul White, Founder and Director of NTA, dropped a bombshell at the company’s October 8 partner conference by announcing the sale of the wholesale unified communications and connectivity provider, before reassuring guests gathered at Peckforton Castle that in other respects it was business as usual. White explained to his stunned audience that he and Charlotte French, an EMI (Enterprise Management Incentive) shareholder, have agreed to sell a significant stake in the business to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), through which current and future employees will become part owners of the company. This arrangement provides continuity for the business and its partners while enabling employees to receive annual bonuses and a share in any future sale. “This is a great opportunity for all involved, especially for our dedicated team, many of whom are long-serving team members,” explained White. “I have sold a significant stake in the business and my partner Charlotte French has exercised her right to sell the EMI shares, which will allow us both to benefit from tax opportunities when selling shares to the EOT. I will remain actively involved in the business operations and continue to drive the business forward.” He added: “I believe this scheme works very well for businesses in the communications industry, as it means all involved gain ownership status. This fosters a more engaged, stable and adaptable workforce, which is particularly beneficial in the fast-evolving telecoms sector. It serves as remuneration for our team, recognising all their hard work in making NTA what it is today.” Other attractions White’s announcement set the stage for a memorable day, which also included presentations on product developments, including a telephony integration solution for CRM/ERP, Serviced Office Solutions and a revamped hosted portal; breakout sessions where partners could find out more about upcoming services; ample opportunities for networking over lunch and tea; entertainment from a magician; and the opportunity to drive top-of-the-range Land Rovers through challenging terrains. In the evening, guests enjoyed a three-course dinner in the Great Hall, followed by NTA’s first Partner Awards ceremony and casino games in the castle’s wine cellar until 3 am. 01708 320 000 / nta.co.uk EOT for NTA NTA partners celebrate success at Connect at the Castle conference Partner Awards NTA’s first partner awards ceremony recognised the contributions of partners across 10 categories: 1.
