Gamma’s new Service Suite for Microsoft Teams gives partners the opportunity to add value and make bigger margins by introducing complementary software and hardware. Ahead of full roll-out in Q1 2025, Gamma is starting an early beta trial of reporting and analytics services by Akixi. The suite will also include call recording by Dubber and hardware for Teams meeting rooms, including headsets and handsets. 5 Candio Candio, another addition from Gamma’s acquisition of EnableX, offers partners a quick and easy way to break into the cybersecurity market (growing at 12% the full Gamma wrap of training and services and sales support. 2 Ericsson LG iPECS Gamma has added the Ericsson LG iPECS unified communications portfolio to its offering through its acquisition of EnableX (along with the Pragma, Techland and Candio brands). This gives Gamma partners more choice (and Pragma partners access to Gamma’s portfolio). Gamma is positioning iPECS as a good option for companies that want to take their first step into the cloud from a traditional PBX feature set without having to reinvent processes or overhaul their business. 3 FUSION IoT FUSION IoT supports Gamma’s second priority by helping partners to break into the IoT market, growing at 18% every year according to Analysys Mason. Gained from its acquisition of Epsilon, FUSION IoT is a well established IoT solution in the German market, featuring Open APIs for easy integration and a removable eSIM capability. Gamma will be carrying out beta trails in the UK towards the end of this year, ahead of a full UK channel launch in Q1 2025. 4 Service Suite for Microsoft Teams Microsoft Teams is set to dominate a large part of the UCaaS market, with On October 17, Gamma Communications, a leading provider of Unified Communications, mobile, security and connectivity services, hosted 450 attendees at its largest-ever partner event at the QEII Centre in Westminster, London. Gammaverse 2024 gave partners an opportunity to find out more about trends shaping the UC&C market and how Gamma and key partners are developing their offerings to help channel partners grow and meet customers’ evolving needs. In his opening address, John Murphy, Managing Director of Gamma Business, highlighted the company’s three priorities to help channel partners grow: 1 Giving partners more to sell; 2 Helping partners into new, high growth markets; and 3 Offering white-labelled managed services to help partners streamline operations, lower overheads and go to market quicker. Addressing the first of these aims, Murphy pointed out that the traditional comms market is maturing with a shift from SIP to UCaaS and urged partners to be part of that transformation or risk getting left behind. To help them win a share of the 6 million UCaaS seats still up for grabs (source: Cavell), as well as ongoing renewals, Murphy highlighted new products from Gamma that give partners additional capabilities and choice. These are: 1 Webex Gamma is offering two versions of Cisco Webex, supported by an automated upgrade tool that enables users of its previous Collaborate app to upgrade to Webex seamlessly: Horizon for Webex, launched in September and already used by 3,300 customers (see Technology Reseller Issue 74), which brings together Gamma’s flagship Horizon platform, used by 850,000 end users, with Cisco’s market-leading AI-powered UCaaS application; and Webex for Gamma, or Webex Wholesale, planned for H1 2025, which scales up to large enterprises and comes with Gamma unveils new products and services at largest ever partner event Welcome to the Gammaverse continued... Getting into IoT Gamma is developing its product offering to help partners break into new areas, but is there any advice that partners who have already diversified can offer? Drawing on his experience of the IoT market, Tom Blumson, Head of IoT at Lister Communications, advised partners wanting to break into IoT to ‘start simple’, for example by upgrading an existing single network SIM to a multi-network SIM that automatically switches to the best signal. After that, they can think about adding value with other elements such as security. In a fireside chat with Holly Sharp, a Microsoft Voice Sales Specialist at Gamma, he said that while M2M was a niche proposition, every company has a need for IoT, adding that these applications will emerge in conversations with clients. He described the IoT opportunity as ‘vast’ but also very simple, describing it in essence as just connectivity, even if it can seem technically daunting. When asked for an example of a Lister Communications IoT customer, Blumson cited a provider of delivery locker boxes that used to be fitted with single-network SIMs and rely on on-site engineer support. Lister recommended multi‑network SIMs, embedded within lockers at the point of manufacture, that automatically connect to the best network when delivered on‑site. As well as converting the customer to multi‑network SIMs, Lister has provided add-on services, such as private security keys that enable remote management, reducing the need for on-site maintenance by engineers.
