technologyreseller.co.uk 21 60 SECONDS Give the people what they want New report highlights growing demand for cyber security as a service CyberSmart, a provider of SME security solutions, is encouraging MSPs that might once have focused purely on managing clients’ IT infrastructures to start offering cyber security as a service to meet growing demand from customers. In a OnePoll survey of 250 senior leaders at UK-based MSPs, two thirds (65%) of respondents said customers now expect MSPs to manage either their cybersecurity infrastructure or their cybersecurity and their IT infrastructure. Three quarters (73%) of respondents questioned for the CyberSmart MSP Survey 2024 say that MSPs’ cybersecurity capabilities are being mentioned more in RFP/new business meetings, with 22% noticing ‘much more’ interest in this aspect of their offerings. Growing interest in MSPs’ ability to take ownership of cyber security is understandable given the lack of cyber security skills and capabilities customers have within their own organisations. For example, 37% of MSP leaders surveyed said that 20% or less of their customers have a specific cybersecurity role in-house. MSPs are already responding to the opportunity this presents by making strategic and structural changes. In the last 12 months: n 33% have increased the budget for their security capabilities; n 28% have increased the budget for their regulatory capabilities; n 28% have made specialist cybersecurity hires; and n 14% have made specialist regulatory hires. New partner programme At the end of January, CyberSmart relaunched its Partner Program to encourage partners to develop a cybersecurity service offering while also safeguarding data and systems within their own organisations. There are three partner tiers, Registered, Advanced and Strategic, based on app install numbers and certification sales. Higher tiers receive additional benefits, including free Cyber Essentials certifications, enhanced marketing development funds and training and enablement programmes, but even Registered partners receive CyberSmart Active Protect compliance, assurance and threat detection software, the CyberSmart Privacy Toolbox and £100,000 in cyber insurance. Engagement in the partner programme enables CyberSmart distributors, MSPs and resellers to pass multiple benefits on to their customers, including: n An all-in-one cybersecurity monitoring, optimisation, training and insurance solution proven to defend against the unexpected and deliver complete cyber confidence; n Access to a team of cybersecurity specialists; n Everyday cyber protection through regular vulnerability and device scanning; n An intuitive dashboard and reporting; n The simplest and fastest route to cybersecurity certifications on the market; and n Help in building a ‘human firewall’ through bite-sized cyber awareness training. https://cybersmart.co.uk/become-a-partner/ The CyberSmart MSP Survey 2024
