Kinly delivers more engaging experiences with XR Studio As part of its developing expertise in immersive collaboration technologies, Kinly has launched Kinly XR Studio. Combining Kinly managed services with technology supplied by Wimbledon-based virtual production company Smart Stage, the turnkey solution enables customers in the corporate and higher education sectors to provide more engaging experiences by immersing users in a limitless 360° virtual world supported by broadcast-quality production capabilities. XR Studio replaces a green screen with LED video displays showing digital content, colleagues and clients and, via a virtual set extension feature, expands content beyond the physical LED environment, allowing the camera(s) to explore the virtual world and capture a range of perspectives and additional content. Augmented reality layers, such as graphs, data and 3D visualisations, can be incorporated alongside the ‘on stage’ presenter, helping to bring content to life. XR Studio tracks the presenter’s position, enabling AR graphics to appear in front of or behind them as they walk around. Another standout feature is full body ‘teleportation’ streams that allow remote guests to join and present as if they were physically in the XR Studio. Kinly says that no technical experience or large studio team is required to produce broadcast quality output with AR graphics and extended VR sets. Operation and content creation is managed though an intuitive user interface, operable via an iPad. www.kinly.com ongoing growth, following the expansion of its technical services team with three new starters in the last 12 months and a 20% increase in client numbers in 2024 alone.
