In total, the team collected 2,812 items of litter from the two beaches, including 1,900 pieces of plastic, from bags, bottles and syringes to wet wipes and cotton bud sticks. www.apogeecorp.com Central marks 30th anniversary with support for local charities Greater Manchester IT provider Central has undertaken a variety of activities to mark its 30th anniversary, ranging from a complete rebrand and new website to fund-raising for local charities. Examples of the latter include a fun run, which raised £711 for Springhill Hospice, a partnership with Horton Housing to give residents free Wi-Fi access during the pandemic and a donation of 30 bags of shopping to Rochdale Boroughwide Housing. The Central team has now taken up the Springhill £30 Corporate Challenge to see how much they can grow a £30 cash loan from the Hospice over the next three months, with plans for further fundraisers over the remainder of the year. Air IT continues growth spurt with fourth pair of acquisitions Air IT has today announced its seventh and eighth acquisitions in a series of M&A deals led by CEO John Whitty. This marks the fourth time the Managed Service Provider has acquired two businesses simultaneously, since gaining the backing of August Equity in January 2020. This is the company’s second acquisition in two years, following that of Bolton-based Tandem Systems in 2019.
