The PiPoffice virtual ‘phone-in-a-phone’ (PiP) gives staff using a mobile phone the same features and functionality as a traditional phone system, including call recording, conference calling, corporate voicemail, IVR, call monitoring, call logging and ring groups, as well as integration with business applications like Teams, Salesforce, Dynamics 365, Bullhorn and Zoho. Each installed PiPoffice app has its own Direct Dial-In (DDI) number and all business calls, contact info and call records remain separate from any personal apps installed on the device. PiPoffice can be used as a mobile-only solution or as part of the PiPoffice hybrid phone system, which also includes desktop apps and desk phone support, giving staff access to business phone features across multiple endpoints. www.pipcall.com INNOVATIONS Low cost SASE Telco Systems, a subsidiary of BATM, has released the first product in its Edgility ecosystem of networking products and services based on the Group’s network function virtualisation (NFV) operating system. Called Edgility OS, this enables data processing to take place at the network edge, nearer to the end device, for faster response times and reduced bandwidth. The first packaged product in the Edgility ecosystem is the Fast SD-WAN & firewall package for branch/home offices. This removes the need for a resilient but costly dedicated MPLS or SD-WAN line at the core of the network, leveraging multiple lines and the compute power of the edge device instead. The Edgility Fast SD-WAN & Firewall comprises a small, rugged device pre-packaged with Edgility OS and integrated with Clavister’s SD-WAN and class A firewall, which can be deployed at a central office and branch offices and employee homes. Telco Systems is targeting the solution at service providers and distributors who can use it to provide customers with a secure access service edge (SASE) solution that is low cost and quick to provision. Gartner predicts that by 2025 at least 60% of enterprises will have explicit strategies and timelines for SASE adoption encompassing user, branch and edge access, up from 10% in 2020. Collaboration display Sharp NEC Display Solutions Europe has launched a new Windows Collaboration Display designed for spontaneous meetings in small meeting spaces, including the home. The NEC MultiSync WD551, certified for Microsoft Teams, enables users to connect their own device via the display’s secure USB-C cable and immediately start sharing content or collaborating via video. Any application installed on the user’s notebook can be projected onto the display’s 55in screen, with the ability to switch seamlessly between two users connected via the two built-in 65W USB-C inputs. The latest PCAP touch technology and optically bonded glass provide a natural writing experience, whether using a finger or one of the two active pens provided, with Windows Ink support and palm rejection to prevent unwanted marks when writing. Integrated IoT sensors gather telemetric data relating to room occupancy, temperature, lighting and air quality, which users will soon be able to manage via the NEC Room Management Service. www.wd551.com Evolutionary approach Lenovo Infrastructure Solutions Group’s new All Flash Array (AFA) storage area network (SAN) offerings, the DM5100F SAN and DM5000F SAN, include integrated cloud connectivity, storage efficiency, encryption, built-in data protection and the ability to upgrade hardware and software as needs evolve – all for a starting price of under $15k. Marco Pozzoni, Director, EMEA Storage Sales at Lenovo ISG, said: “Traditional storage solution packages come with all capabilities built-in, raising the costs and making storage expensive for all businesses. We’ve decided to address this issue and offer solutions that help companies, irrespective of the growth stage they are at. The DM5100F SAN and DM5000F SAN are both fully upgradeable from a hardware and software perspective, giving businesses a richer data management platform that grows as they do.” https://www.lenovo.com Lithium-ion alternatives Riello UPS has introduced lithium-ion battery versions of its modular UPS Multi Power, super-efficient NextEnergy and high-performing Master series. Lithium-ion batteries deliver a higher power density – delivering the same power in 50-75% less footprint and weight than sealed lead- acid (SLA) batteries typically used in UPS systems; a longer lifespan of 15-20 years, resulting in TCO savings of 10-40% over a decade; and better performance in higher operating temperatures of up to 40°C compared to the recommended 20-25°C for SLA. Leo Craig, Managing Director of Riello UPS, said: “Lithium-ion solutions also transform a UPS from a purely reactive machine waiting to provide emergency power when there’s an outage into a dynamic device that can help balance the electricity grid in real time through peak shaving and mechanisms like frequency response. Their rapid charge/discharge and high number of cycles make them an ideal solution for storing energy generated from renewable sources such as wind turbines or solar panels.” www.riello-ups.co.uk Versatile display New from Viewsonic, the 43-inch ViewBoard 4320 Interactive display combines Native 4K Ultra HD resolution, 10-point multi-touch capability, USB-C for power and plug and play connectivity and integrated annotation and screen casting software (myViewBoard) that makes it easy for users to share and collaborate with colleagues in small spaces and remotely. Viewsonic is positioning the ViewBoard 4320 as an interactive collaboration display for huddle rooms, co-working spaces and home offices, as well as a versatile secondary display. Optional extras include web cameras, active pens and a choice of stands. www.viewsonic.com .
