Rimmer, who was once Chief Operating Officer at the company, was appointed Interim CEO in April, since when he has been reacquainting himself with the business. Rimmer first joined Time Finance in 2017 as Managing Director of its newly established Commercial Finance division. Prior to that he was UK CEO of Bibby Financial Services, which he helped build into the largest independent operator in the invoice finance market. Operating from five locations across the UK – Bath, Cardiff, Abingdon, Manchester, and Warrington – Time Finance specialises in Asset Finance, Invoice Finance, Loans and Vehicle Finance, each year arranging £150million of funding for UK businesses. Other recent appointments at the company include Rob Walters , who has been made Business Development Manager of its Invoice Finance division, and Joe Ralphs , who has been made Head of Operations of the Asset Finance division. www.timefinance.com Walter Heck promoted to HeleCloud Group Technology Officer HeleCloud, an AWS Premier Consulting Partner based in the UK, Bulgaria and the Netherlands, is eyeing further growth with the promotion of Walter Heck from Netherlands Chief Technology Officer to Group Chief Technology Officer. His appointment comes after a year of strong growth in which HeleCloud increased revenues by 70%, took on an extra 30 AWS consultants and engineers and completed the acquisition of cloud-native software development company DataStork. The latter has taken HeleCloud into the cloud-native software development and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) space. Asolvi provides market-leading service management solutions for copy/print (Evatic and Vantage Online), fire & security (AlarmMaster, Tivapp and Winserv) and foodservice equipment (Tesseract). www.asolvi.com UK head for start-up investor Clearco Clearco (formerly Clearbanc), an investor in e-commerce, mobile app and SaaS start-ups, plans to strengthen its presence in the UK with the appointment of Sarah Clark as its first international country manager. As UK Head, Clark, who led Paypal’s growth across EMEA and has held senior roles at Barclays Bank, Virgin Group, Sainsbury’s and British Airways, aims to build relationships with UK-based founders. She said: “Since entering the UK market in October 2020, we’ve invested £70M into more than 250 UK companies, including Druids Golf, Safiyaa and Piglet. I believe every founder building a business in the UK should be working with Clearco.” In a second major hire, Clearco has appointed serial entrepreneur, author and longtime Clearco investor Ruma Bose as Chief Growth Officer tasked with ensuring the company has the right strategy to expand into markets outside North America, including mainland Europe – Clearco started operations in the Netherlands in June – and Asia Pacific. Clearco, which recently completed a $100M Series C funding round, aims to democratise access to capital by using proprietary algorithms that are gender-, race-, and region-agnostic. In 2020, it funded eight times as many companies headed by female founders as traditional VC firms and directed 13% of its funding to companies headed by founders of colour, compared to 2.6% in traditional VC firms.
