[email protected] COMMENT 03 The sound of leather on willow made a welcome return to my village green this weekend – as it had to the nearby Ageas Bowl earlier in the week; the local pub was doing brisk trade through its new serving hatches; and motorcyclists were once again terrorising elderly drivers on the A road. It was almost a return to normal. Office workers – the lucky ones – are going back to work; more and more shops are opening; haircuts and beauty treatments are being booked; and by the end of the month there will be no excuse not to visit the gym. Not all business activities are allowed. B2B trade shows are opening up in parts of Asia and Europe, but when – and in what form – they will be permitted in the UK is still uncertain. That said, we remain confident that Technology Live will be taking place in the Business Design Centre on October 13, as scheduled, and are continuing with our plans to make it an unmissable event for all in the IT community, from vendors and distributors to resellers and MSPs. We are currently putting together an inspiring seminar programme and on July 1 we started to accept online registrations at www.technologylive.co.uk . There is a strong case for attending a show like Technology Live at the best of times – to make new contacts, renew existing relationships, speak to peers about challenges/ opportunities, find out about new solutions. The need for such a forum is arguably even greater during a time of crisis, especially the current one, which, as is becoming increasingly clear, is likely to have a profound effect on businesses’ investment plans. New research from Datto and IT Glue (see page 7) highlight how Covid-19 is already impacting revenues and altering priorities in the MSP community.
