Spun out of the University of Oxford in 2016, Diffblue applies AI to automated code generation to solve critical pain points for development teams looking to deliver high quality code with less effort and in less time. Lodge has over 25 years of experience in the software industry at organisations of all sizes, including Symantec, Cisco and VMWare, where he was Vice President of cloud services and co-founder of the vCloud Air IaaS service. He was also a board member of the Linux Foundation’s Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF). In its first year, Diffblue received £17 million in a Series A funding round led by Goldman Sachs and Oxford Sciences Innovation. Adarga recruits former Microsoft Intelligence Head Artificial intelligence analytics software company Adarga has appointed Jason Atlas, a former Microsoft Intelligence Head, as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Vendors Brother UK creates new sustainability role Brother UK has appointed a full-time sustainable development coordinator to help end users reduce their environmental footprint. Gemmer Crozier, who joined Brother as an apprentice five years ago, will work with channel partners and their customers to highlight how Brother solutions and services can support a greener business and to raise awareness of Brother’s approach to sustainability. In her new role, Crozier will also collaborate with the Brother recycling facility in Ruabon, Wales to encourage more Brother business customers to recycle Brother print cartridges. Based at the Soapworks, TalkTalk Business’s HQ in Salford Quays, Kini will report to TalkTalk CEO Tristia Harrison. Previously, Kini has held senior roles at Drax Plc, where he was CEO of the Customer overseeing its ongoing product development. Joining Datto from Oracle, Petrocelli has more than 30 years of technology experience. He began his career as co-founder and CEO for Heartlab, a cardiac image and information management company purchased by AGFA in 2005, and subsequently set up GreenBytes, a provider of inline deduplication data storage applications and cloud-scale IO-Offload systems, which was acquired by Oracle in 2014. Datto currently serves more than 500,000 small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in more than 130 countries through partnerships with more than 15,000 MSPs. Geddes takes reins at QA Erstwhile Direct Line Group CEO Paul Geddes is taking the reins at QA later this month, following the retirement of William Macpherson who has led the business for 11 years, successfully building QA into the largest digital education and skills provider in the UK, with nearly £300m in annual revenues and average annual profit growth of 35%. Sir Charlie Mayfield, Chairman of QA, said: “William has been a hugely successful leader of QA. He has transformed the business from a small IT training business that was just breaking even in 2008 into the market leader for IT and digital skills development. Fletcher has 15 years’ experience in the ICT sector, including spells at Lenovo and Yealink, where he was business channel development manager.
