The acquisition of Sensata, which designs, installs and supports IT networks for small and medium-sized enterprises, is part of Excalibur’s strategy to grow by strengthening its IT and connectivity business. Sensata founders Christopher and Janet Griffin will remain involved with Excalibur and customers will continue to be served by their current team. Sentata staff will relocate to Excalibur’s offices in Arclite House, Swindon. www.excaliburcomms.co.uk Onecom to sell Sony Mobile IoT products Onecom has signed a UK partnership agreement with Sony Mobile Communications to sell and support its Internet of Things (IoT) portfolio. The first service it will offer is Tracking Solutions from Sony, a complete indoor positioning service that enables the tracking and tracing of assets and people in real time. Target markets include airports for tracking trolleys and wheelchairs; servicing companies for locating assets to maintain; and production companies and other organisations with expensive equipment to keep track of. The Scottish Government and Crown Commercial Service (CCS) have named it as an approved supplier on the framework under the Telephony Services category of the Government’s Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for Traditional Telephony, IP Telephony and Enterprise Bundled Services. The agreement signed at the recent Manchester India Business Summit follows the opening of a Tech Mahindra office in Salford in April. The IT services and consultancy company employs over 110,000 staff and has offices in more than 60 countries.
