The company’s growth has been driven by a number of public sector wins, including ultra-fast broadband contracts with the City of Edinburgh Council and the Scottish Borders Council. Following the signing of its largest ever deal – a £30million seven-year contract with Glasgow City Council – Commsworld anticipates revenues of more than £20 million in 2018. The expansion is the latest strategic investment made by the company since its acquisition by the Endless Fund IV from US-based private equity fund Garnett and Helfrich Capital LLP in 2017. https://mti.com Record year for Commsworld Andrew Roberts Airband in the running Following its success at last year’s Midlands Family Business Awards, where it won Fastest Growing Family Business of the Year, Worcester-based internet service provider Airband has been nominated for Tech Growth Business of the Year in the 2018 National Technology Awards. Over the last two years, Airband has delivered Superfast broadband projects worth £23 million to 34,000 homes and businesses in rural and hard-to-reach areas of England and Wales where a traditional fibre solution cannot be used. During this period, Airband doubled its headcount to 48 and increased turnover by 144%, from £1.5m in 2015 to £3.8m in 2016. The National Technology Award winners will be announced on May 17, 2018.
