WHAT’S NEW
Indoor signage
Panasonic has launched a new range of
indoor signage display panels. The Full
HD SF2 range replaces the LF8 series
and features new data cloning software,
accessed via the LAN, which allows for the
copying of menu settings and adjusted
values from the original display to multiple
others. The E-LED LCD display is available
in four sizes (43, 49, 55 and 65 inches);
features wide-view IPS panel technology
with 450 cd/m2; and has a built-in USB
Media Player.

Premium
headset
The Plantronics
Voyager 8200 UC is
a premium Bluetooth
headset with
passive and active
noise cancellation
and a wireless range
of up to 98 ft from
supported Class 1 Bluetooth
devices. The boomless design has four
‘beam-forming’ microphones that detect
and amplify the speaker’s voice. Two
additional microphones detect and block
environmental noise. Smart sensors detect
when a headset has been taken off,
automatically pausing media streaming
and starting again when the headset is
put back on. A dynamic mute alert feature
warns if you start to speak while muted.
What’s New
Efficient workflow
Buyers Laboratory LLC (BLI) has given
the Kodak i3500 Scanner a Summer
2017 Pick Award in the Outstanding
Light-Production Scanner category. The
device was chosen for its ease of use,
low total cost of ownership, superior
media handling and a software bundle
that helps make workflows more
efficient. Smart Touch technology
provides quick access to commonly
used workflows, while multi-feed
detection and Intelligent Document
Protection technologies warn users
of jams or misfeeds. Perfect Page
technology automatically optimises
image quality for each scan.
Take
control
Projecta, a division of Milestone AV
Technologies, has released a control box
for projection screen control. The Projecta
All-in-One Control Box can be combined
with any motorised projection screen in
Projecta’s portfolio and offers multiple
operation options in a single box: Relay,
two metre cable included; Radiofrequency,
remote control included; Infrared, remote
control included; 12 volt trigger, two metre
cable included; and Manual Switch on
the box.
Cloud-based
access control
Workforce time
management solutions
provider hfx has developed
a cloud-based Access
Control solution that
enables organisations of
all sizes to manage staff
time more effectively. hfx
Access Control can be used
as a standalone solution
or be fully integrated with Flexitime
Management, Vanquish T&A, Everyone
Cloud and other third party solutions.
Door access control devices can be
used with biometric (fingerprint) or
proximity readers, with details of who
can pass through which door stored
locally, so that should the network fail,
the doors will still operate. A copy is
backed up in the cloud with location
details for each member of staff,
providing an accurate roll call in an
emergency.
Durable external hard drive
ADATA Technology has updated its external
hard drive range with the HD710 Pro and a
refreshed HD650. The HD710 Pro improves
on its HD710 predecessor with military-
grade shock resistance and dust and water
proofing in excess of IP68, including the
ability to withstand submersion in two
metres of water for up to 60 minutes. It
has a capacity of up to 4TB, like the new
HD650, and is available in four colours.
Both models feature G-Shock sensor
technology that stops and restarts drive
activity when shocks or vibrations are
detected to prevent data corruption.
Compact scanner
Canon has added to its imageFORMULA range of document scanners
with the DR-C230. The compact device provides scanning speeds of
30ppm/60ipm, features a 60-sheet automatic document feeder
and boasts various advanced image processing features, including
text enhancement, automatic de-skew and text orientation
recognition.
