Canon Europe has launched a
new managed print services
(MPS) accreditation program
for European channel partners.
Developed and audited by MPS
research and consulting firm
Photizo Group, the programme
provides independent
verification of Canon partners’
ability to deliver MPS
technology, solutions, service
and support.
It is provided as part of
Canon’s Partner Program,
which also includes training; the
developments of a joint business
plan with agreed targets for the
year; and access to Canon’s
PartnerNet communications
portal for marketing and sales
support.
Marc Bory, director of MPS
and solutions sales for Canon
Europe, said: “The new MPS
Accreditation program provides
our partners with the opportunity
to gain a competitive edge based
on a significant and credible
independent audit process.”

Océ Business Services has
teamed up with Top Image
Systems (TIS) to provide
life insurance, pensions and
investment company Aegon
with a fully outsourced
solution for managed print
services and inbound
mail document capture
processing.
As part of the £3.5 million
a year MPS contract, Océ was
required to consolidate mail
services from two centres
200 miles apart at a single
outsourced location and
replace manual work processes
with the digital scanning and
distribution of incoming post.
To enable it to deliver all
elements of the service, Océ
partnered with TIS, which is
supplying its eFLOW Digital
Mailroom software and
expertise in implementing
enterprise-wide document and
business process automation
solutions.
Océ Business Services now
scans 95,000 documents
per month, including claims
documents up to 200 pages
in length. TIS’s eFLOW Digital
Mailroom solution delivers
data feeds and associated
images (including incoming
faxes) into Aegon’s workflow
and document management
systems.
Average document
processing times have been
reduced to one day and all
priority items are processed
up to 70% faster than
before. Incorrectly completed
documents are detected
earlier on, payments and policy
documents are processed
faster, and client documents
can be tracked helping
AEGON to meet Service Level
Agreements of its own.
David Lowe, Director of Océ
Business Services in the UK,
said: “After co-operating with
TIS on this successful project,
Océ is interested in developing
a deeper partnership based
both on Océ offering the
high added-value of the
eFLOW solution suite to our
print management services
customers, as well as through
TIS making Océ equipment
and services available to its
customer base. We see a great
opportunity for joint TIS-Océ
business, across the UK as well
as elsewhere in Europe and
around the globe.”

Making life easier for people who have to work on the move Sharp
has launched a new App, reinforcing its campaign to create a wide
portfolio of tools focused on making workflow easier.
Sharpdesk Mobile
, which is available free of charge from Apple’s App
Store and Google’s Play Store, wirelessly connects Smartphones and Tablet
PCs with the printing and scanning capabilities of Sharp’s MFP’s.
Sharpdesk Mobile
addresses three key requirements: printing, scanning
and sharing.
Printing
– users can print PDF, JPG and TIFF files from a Smartphone or
Tablet PC directly to any supported Sharp MFP.
Scanning
– users can scan documents from any supported Sharp MFP
directly to their mobile device.
Sharing
– once a document has been scanned to the Smartphone or
Tablet PC it can be emailed to other users and shared with other mobile
applications.
“Our aim is to make all of our Apps easy to use. Some of them will be
developed by our technology partners and others will be written in-house,”
said Chris Hale, Software Solutions Product Manager. “All of them will make
life a lot easier for mobile workers.”
To download the free app
go to the Apple’s App Store
or Googles Play Store and
