Canon and HP have won new
Buyers Laboratory Line of
the Year Awards for energy
efficiency and wide format
printing respectively.
Canon won BLI’s first
Line of the Year Award for
Energy Efficiency after its A3
MFPs exhibited ‘significantly
lower than average energy
consumption’ in real-world job
stream tests.
The award was based
on the performance of the
imageRUNNER ADVANCE
C2020i, C2030i, C5035i,
C5051i and C5255 Series; the
imageRUNNER 3245i; and the
imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4051i,
4025i and 6075 Series.
Canon’s devices had energy
consumption rates ranging from
37% to 62% below competitive
averages.
HP has won the inaugural BLI
Wide Format Technical Printer
Line of the Year award for its
Designjet T series. BLI claims
that HP’s models distinguished
themselves in testing with four
out of the six currently available
earning themselves BLI ‘Picks’
as the best in their respective
categories.
A key benefits of HP’s product
line, says BLI, is the Designjet
ePrint & Share utility, available
free with all Designjet ePrinter
models. This enables users to
scan wide format documents
to the cloud for retrieval by any
number of users and to print
directly without the need for
associated print drivers.
Joe Tischner, BLI wide-
format printer analyst, said:
“Modifications to design plans
and projects can be conveyed
quickly to teams worldwide
using HP ePrint & Share. It’s
a perfect solution for sharing
large, multi-page files.”
