01732 759725 BULLETIN 10 Canon earns place on CPC framework Canon has been awarded supplier status in Lot 2 of the latest Crescent Purchasing Consortium (CPC) framework. The company has been a supplier to the framework for the last ten years and inclusion in this latest update is based on meeting a number of important evaluation criteria, including value for money, quality, and capability benchmarks. The framework brings together multifunctional devices, print management and digital transformation services under one agreement in response to the overall reduction in print volumes and the wider shift towards digitalisation across the sector. It allows members to source a full end-to-end information management solution, whilst benefiting from efficiencies and Canon’s extensive range of products, software and services. www.canon.co.uk CompTIA Network+ update CompTIA has introduced an update to CompTIA Network+, a certification that validates the skills needed to securely establish, maintain and troubleshoot the essential networks that are the backbone of the digital economy. CompTIA Network+ is a building block for early career IT professionals looking to expand their networking skills. The exam emphasises the foundational elements of networks and hands-on experience working with networking components. Areas of emphasis on the new exam include IP addressing, connecting networks, wireless standards and technologies, network availability and securing and hardening networks. “IT professionals who earn the CompTIA Network+ credential have demonstrated their ability and confidence to provide critical network support on any network, anywhere,” said Randall Edwards, Senior Manager, Certification Products, CompTIA. “It is the only certification that covers the hands-on skills and precise knowledge needed in today’s multi-vendor networking environments.” www.comptia.org Responsible purchasing ARMOR Print Solutions has published a practical guide to responsible purchasing, aimed at private and public sector organisations wishing to implement a responsible purchasing policy. The guide lists ten environmental and social criteria (waste management, working conditions, biodiversity, etc.) with key questions to ask suppliers for each category. www.armor-group.com Better business outcomes Avaya has aligned its services, partners and developers into a global ecosystem designed to help enterprises build better experiences for employees and customers, wherever and whenever communications and collaboration happen. Under these criteria, the report analysed a provider’s product or service, market responsiveness, business model and innovation, among other metrics. “Visionaries have an ambitious vision of the future and are making significant investments in the development of unique technologies,” according to Gartner. www.alibabacloud.com ETIRA certification initiative The European Toner and Inkjet Remanufacturers Association (ETIRA) has launched a new certification label to help customers distinguish between printing cartridges which are better for the environment than others. The new certified mark will differentiate remanufactured OEM cartridges from new OEM and non- OEM new products. The new label is currently limited to ETIRA members through a qualification process and license agreement, meaning the remanufacturer will be able to apply the certification mark not only to their own brand of cartridges, but any brand of cartridges they have produced for a third-party that complies with the license requirements. www.etira.org HEADL INE SPONSOR
