01732 759725 GOLF SOCIETY 34 PrintIT Reseller and sister publication Technology Reseller magazines’ exclusive golf society has got off to a tee with the first two events seeing some of the print, IT and technology industry’s very best players finally make par in the 19th hole! Off to a tee score of 43 points was Tim Brooks from Pragma. The second tournament located at Forest Pines, Brigg on September 9, was also hailed a great success by all of the attendees. Over a two course post-round dinner, the winners were revealed. Highest score of the day, went to George Smith, Copier Systems, who racked up a total of 38 points. Longest drive was won by Rob Eastwood also from Copier Systems; Jonathan Webb, DSales earned the nearest the pin award, and the prize for the best performing team overall was presented to James Hosking, Jonathan Whitworth, Tom McCarthy and Jonathan Webb, all from DSales. The race is on The top four players from Castle Combe – Tim Brooks, Pragma; Shaun Wilkinson, UTAX; Dean Gaunt, and Nick Solomon, Epson; will join George Smith, Copier Systems; Richard Knight, Get Crisp; James Hosking, DSales and Tom McCarthy, OfficeFlow; who achieved the top four player accolade at Forest Pines. They will all compete for the prestigious overall player of the year title at the third and final tournament of 2021, which will take place at The Warwickshire, on October 14. On behalf of the Kingswood Tech Events and Media team, Paul Johnson said: “We would like to thank everyone that joined us. I know quite a few of you travelled a long way to both events, and we want you to know we appreciate your support. We look forward to the third and final event in October and to continuing what we hope will become a must- attend event on the industry calendar into 2022 and beyond.” Registrations are now open for 2022. The events are organised on a pay per play basis and everyone is welcome, whatever your handicap or whether you’re a hacker, an over clubber, or consistently score a double eagle! After having to move the date a couple of times, the inaugural event sponsored by Fortinet/Exclusive Networks finally took place at Manor House, Castle Combe on August 11. From the reaction of everyone who attended, it was definitely worth the wait. The golf club is in a fantastic location, the course itself was in excellent condition and according to our very own event organiser, Paul Johnson – for some, very testing! To inject a bit of fun into the day, James Hosking from D-Sales invited former world golf trick shot champion Geoff Swain to put on a show. He spent time with the golfers on the driving range and the tenth hole giving great advice, demonstrating some mind blowing golf shots, and a few of his best golf trick shots. He also threw in a bit of banter as he joined Neil Brosnan of Exclusive Networks to present the winners’ prizes. And the winners are Ibml’s Nigel Drayton scooped the nearest the pin award and Jesse Macpherson, also from ibml won the longest drive.
