Recent milestones for the project include adding cover for the building’s first-floor classrooms, as well as laying the foundations for new teaching spaces. To help the next phase, a team of five employees took part in the gruelling 12km Leeds Total Warrior race through water, fire, and mud, raising over £2,150 towards the expansion. Part of a larger project to support the school to completion, staff also held a Newill Academy fundraising day which included collections of stationery, clothing, and toys for the school’s children. Ranging from books, IT equipment, and school furniture, customers have also flocked to support the construction, which should prove to be a pivotal development in Koforidua. The project is spearheaded by Sharp Customer Support Engineer William Newman. He said: “The first-floor classrooms have now been covered and the foundations have been laid for additional classrooms at the rear of the building. I honestly cannot thank my colleagues at Sharp enough for their continued hard work and generosity. Their ongoing fundraising efforts mean we can now finance the slab reinforcement of the second floor which is fantastic.” www.newillacademy.org Ricoh brings new market opportunities to life Ricoh will be showcasing its latest inkjet technology at Sign & Digital UK 2019, 2-4 April, NEC Birmingham. Working with Brother UK, the retail management system provider has further developed its offering to streamline the often- laborious process of labelling donations and products for sale, and to enhance the way in which Gift Aid is captured with the new Electronic Donor Sign-up module, an add on to the CharityStore platform. When a donor brings items into store, they can quickly and easily sign up to donate with Gift Aid by inputting their details into the Cybertill system on a tablet, with the data then stored securely on the cloud. The solution can now be integrated with the Brother TD-2120N desktop label printer, enabling charity shops to easily produce barcodes for each product’s label that contain its price, category and donor ID. Digitising the labelling of products eradicates the potential for handwritten errors, ensuring charities can reclaim the tax on 100% of eligible donations. www.brother.co.uk Kofax completes Nuance acquisition Kofax has announced the closing of its acquisition of Nuance Document Imaging (NDI), a division of Nuance Communications.
