The complete 2019 HONOR range will be available from Tech Data including the recently- launched HONOR 8X and HONOR View 20 smartphones and Band 4 wearable devices. HONOR has achieved four-fold growth in its market share in the UK and become the fifth- largest smartphone brand in the market at the end of 2018, according to GfK. The new alliance sees Nimans featuring the Red Box platform, as well as offering value- added applications and services, such as speech-to-text transcription, which helps maximise the value of captured voice data. Head of Channel Sales Tom Maxwell, said: “Red Box is a valuable addition to the company’s extensive call recording and wider comms portfolio; particularly around systems integration with brands such as Unify, in capturing enterprise- wide voice.” www.nimans.net Spicers reconsiders national infrastructure Spicers is reviewing its national infrastructure and has commenced a consultation process with a number of staff, with proposals to either reduce or cease activity at certain locations. Spicers is looking to focus on two key Regional Distribution Centres in Greenwich and Manchester. This will result in each of these key units carrying a greater depth of stock (currently planned at a 40% increase in Greenwich and over 100% increase in Manchester over today’s levels), thereby increasing availability levels. In addition these two key sites will be enhanced by a number of local distribution centres. In a statement the wholesaler said that the proposed changes will have minimum impact on delivery services, but are intended to better support the Spicers customer through a fit for purpose, cost-effective national operational and logistics platform.” www.spicers.co.uk Spitfire makes a move Spitfire has relocated its Midlands office to central Birmingham. The new office has space for expansion, includes demonstration facilities and provides easier access for customers.
