BULLETIN EKM Global partners with PrintReleaf EKM Global, the international managed print service software supplier and consultancy, has entered a partnership with PrintReleaf to drive environmental sustainability in printer paper consumption. PrintReleaf has developed a standard, methodology and technology platform – PRX – that makes it simple for customers to certifiably reforest their paper consumption. EKM's Insight print management solutions enable its customers to optimise print resources and operations and lock the gains in through advanced service delivery automation software. The companies have integrated the two platforms to provide fully automated reporting from any EKM customer site directly to PrintReleaf PRX. This makes it straightforward for customers to offset their paper consumption with equivalent, certified paper reforestation. www.printreleaf.com Acronis Partners with Google Cloud Acronis has announced a new strategic partnership with Google Cloud. The parent company remains Kodak Alaris. Alaris-branded offerings were introduced last year with the launch of the Alaris IN2 Ecosystem. The new brand marked the shift towards integrated offerings that combined scanners, software and services. “The name is new but our Alaris line of scanners are built with the same unwavering commitment to productivity, reliability and quality that our customers and partners have come to depend on for years,” said Don Lofstrom, President and General Manager, Alaris. He added: “Consistent with our ‘future proof’ promise, all Alaris-branded software is backward compatible to work with our current scanners. The product portfolio includes both ‘Kodak’ and ‘Alaris’ branded scanners.” AlarisWorld.com The Mailing Room adds MailServe business to company portfolio The Mailing Room (TMR) has acquired another regional franking machine specialist, MailServe of Haywards Heath, West Sussex, and its sister company Monsters Ink. This follows last year’s acquisition of Mailing Systems Limited of Weston-super-Mare, adding a further 700 customer accounts to its growing portfolio. The MailServe deal covers the current assets and ongoing interests of a Royal Mail-approved post room equipment specialist, renowned for first-class levels of customer service. Under the arrangement, previous owner Carl Turner will remain as a Senior Account Manager, along with a number of other sales and service personnel. This strategic purchase extends TMR’s geographic presence along the M3 corridor, bringing the operational benefits of advanced mailroom technologies to thriving organisations in that area and beyond. TMR is currently celebrating its 20th anniversary, starting out as an approved supplier to the public sector and later diversifying into the private and voluntary sectors, dealing with more than 7,000 client organisations over the years. www.themailingroom.com UK’s first vegan printer New start-up Hatch has gained the first official Vegan Accreditation for any UK based printer. The London-based printer has forged a strong reputation in its short life so far, and shows no sign of letting up as it finds new and innovative ways to stand out against its competitors. Founder and vegetarian, Gary Toomey, realised that it may well be possible to run his business without ‘blood on his hands’, and after extensive questioning of all his suppliers, and sourcing new ones where necessary, he discovered that he could take Hatch’s green credentials a step beyond. www.hatchprint.co.uk PRINT IT RESELLER.UK 11
