Print IT Reseller - issue 125

PRINTITRESELLER.UK 23 Terry Caulfield, Chief Commercial Officer, Brother UK: Technology continues to evolve rapidly and the businesses that will be the winners in 2025 will be the ones moving quickest to embrace it. The progress of AI in the past year has been remarkable and its use in MPS will expand significantly. That’s because it offers resellers the chance to get deeper insights into customer printing habits and changes in print behaviour to support dynamic fleet optimisation and preventative maintenance. We’ve long embraced innovation and we’re excited about the potential AI can offer our customers through intelligent print. Demand for cloud print services will continue to rise, too. Businesses will need their reseller partners for guidance on improving workflow efficiencies and making cost and sustainability savings. MPS delivers all of these in one, so it’s no surprise that demand continues to surge. Working with partners like Tungsten Automation, we’re helping customers transition to the cloud with our Brother cloud solutions portfolio. The tools provide secure, location‑aware printing and document digitisation that helps transform print infrastructure while maintaining robust data protection and regulatory compliance. These tech advances are crucial for businesses as they tinker with their hybrid working models. The upcoming Employment Rights Bill will bring about more changes and could force companies to re-think their remote working set-up again, offering an opportunity for resellers to help IT teams develop an agile, cloud-based print estate. This is all underpinned by sustainability. We’re all striving to cut waste, boost efficiency and contribute to circular economies, and it’s our focus to equip resellers with the solutions that can make this a reality for customers. For example, we’ve just become the first vendor to remanufacture both ink and laser cartridges, marking a major milestone in the industry’s push to be more sustainable. The circular economy will be central to customers’ sustainability goals and resellers have an important role to play in making sure customers’ tech contributes to that. www.brother.co.uk VOX POP continued... Stuart Miller, Director UK&I Channel Partners, Canon: The year ahead is set to be one of major technological advancements, with the role of applications, software and AI that businesses rely on growing significantly more complex. In the year ahead, it will be important for print manufacturers to foster strong relationships with partners, resellers and distributors, providing them with the support and counsel they need to succeed. We expect to see high quality and productive MFPs continue to be at the heart of any business’ printing ecosystem and this will remain a priority for Canon. On top of providing cutting-edge hardware, ensuring partners are up to date on the latest software will be fundamental, especially for breaking into the SaaS space for businesses across a variety of sectors. With the value and volume of data held by businesses ever increasing, it will also be important for resellers to share the cybersecurity benefits of such software with their customers. It is important to keep in mind that sometimes the most secure solutions focus on going back to the basics – offering powerful user authentication and zero trust architecture, for example. When it comes to production print, media versatility will be at the forefront in 2025 – to meet a wider range of customer requirements. Alongside exciting new inkjet and toner devices announced at drupa this year, we at Canon recognise the growth opportunities offered by wide-format printing, including interior décor, wallpaper, packaging and fine art. We expect to see increased interest in devices that support this type of media in the coming year. Of course, sustainability will remain high on the agenda in 2025 and should be at the heart of product development and lifecycle processes, including for consumables. For example, many businesses and sectors still heavily rely on paper - from healthcare to AEC. In recognition of this, manufacturers should be looking at how to make consumables such as paper as climate compensated as possible, which will continue to be a big focus for Canon. As customers look to work with printers that align with their sustainability and wider business goals, it is important for manufacturers and PSPs to work together to offer the best expert advice as possible. www.canon.co.uk When it comes to production print, media versatility will be at the forefront in 2025 We’re all striving to cut waste, boost efficiency and contribute to circular economies, and it’s our focus to equip resellers with the solutions that can make this a reality for customers Terry Caulfield Stuart Miller
