01732 759725 42 Martin Fairman, Group Sales & Marketing Director, Kyocera Document Solutions UK: Sustainability is deeply embedded in Kyocera’s philosophy. Providing a greener way to print is inherent in the R&D of our products. They’re designed to use less energy, less toner and power down with sleep modes using as little as 0.3 Watts. They ship in pulp packaging, and our SRA3 MFPs reuse the empty toner cartridge as a waste toner bottle. In the UK we’re proud to be a carbon neutral business – alongside our organic initiatives every printing product is available carbon neutral to support our customers’ sustainability goals. In fact, to date we have offset thousands of devices and their consumables, at an average of 935 tCO2e per month during the last financial year. For customers taking a managed print service we offset engineer mileage too, as well as undertaking remote fixing to save vehicle emissions. Through our PrintReleaf programme we’ve reforested 19,185 trees, equivalent in area to 61 Olympic sized swimming pools. This initiative is part of our broader commitment to reducing the carbon footprint associated with printing. We also provide our channel partners with sales enablement tool kits: Power Down explains how our printing products are designed to save energy at the point of operation and how customers can be more energy efficient by using low power, sleep modes or timer settings. On top of this we’re actively helping partners who have embraced our environmental focus gain certified carbon neutral status for their business. It’s important to be transparent about sustainability efforts and our impact on the environment which is why we publish Kyocera’s UK operational sustainability data in our annual Carbon Reduction Plan and provide live data on our PrintReleaf progress. Rowan Jeffreys-Hoar, Board Director – Partner Channel, Ricoh: Sustainability and ESG have become critical priorities for businesses of all sizes, from large corporations to small enterprises. We have a comprehensive sustainability strategy that our partners can leverage effectively when promoting our products and services. We offer dedicated resources that can accurately calculate and compare much carbon and energy they’re saving by printing as-a-service. The newly-launched ESG Zone on our BrotherZone partner portal also brings together a range of information on how our technology and services can boost business sustainability. It includes background on our commitment to the environment, including how we align our activity to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, and materials to help resellers have conversations with customers about identifying a vendor that will help address their sustainability challenges. LeAnne Foley, Head of Indirect Sales, Toshiba Tec: We’ve been talking to partners and customers about sustainability for years, since the launch of our Carbon Zero scheme in 2009. This programme not only offsets the carbon footprint of our products but also provides partners with detailed information on the product lifecycle impact, helping them make informed decisions. We also offer practical advice and insights on how to efficiently run Toshiba print fleets, enabling customers to save energy and reduce their environmental impact. paper solutions also complement our sustainable offering. From providing data-driven insight, to leading by example with recycling and waste management, partners can be confident in advising customers on the sustainability credentials of Canon devices. Greig Millar, Chief Revenue Officer, Brother UK: Like security and digital transformation, sustainability is another key credential for partners to demonstrate in tender documents, with it given as much as a 40% weighting in some cases. It’s something that we’re proud to support them on. We have a leading remanufacturing programme based in Ruabon, North Wales, where users are encouraged to return their toners free of charge. The vast majority (86%) of the toners we remanufacture are turned into ‘as new’ cartridges, which produces a third (33%) less CO2 versus creating toners from virgin materials. Tracking how much carbon is saved through this process is fed back to the partner and their customers, and businesses on our MPS Enterprise agreement receive a full report and breakdown of exactly how VOX POP continued...
