Evolve paper brand
returns to UK
Thai pulp and premium paper
manufacturer Double A has resumed
production of Evolve Everyday 100%
recycled paper at the Alizay paper mill in
Haute-Normandie, France after acquiring the site last year.
Production of FSC-certified Evolve ceased in 2011 when M-real closed
the mill as part of its strategy to cut losses from paper-making and focus on
paperboard instead.
Launched in 1996, FSC-certified Evolve recycled paper was originally made in
Sittingbourne, Kent out of waste paper collected from businesses in London and
the South-East. M-real moved production to Alizay at the end of 2008.
Following a study by Exeter
University showing that individuals
can be up to 30% more productive
if they are able to express
themselves in the workplace,
Leitz is encouraging employees
and businesses to revitalise their
working environment with bright,
colourful WOW desk accessories.
This summer it launched a
nationwide campaign to find Britain’s
Dullest Desk, in order to show how
easily a workplace can be transformed
with colour. The competition, which
closed on 5 September, called on
UK workers to submit snaps of their
workstations to compete for the title,
with the winner receiving an office
makeover from the Leitz WOW range.
Colour psychology and business
branding expert Karen Haller believes
that colour has a vital role to play in
any working environment.
She said: “When we see a colour,
we instantly feel its effect whether we
are consciously aware of it or not and
it can influence our mood, feelings and
ultimately, actions. Colour is also an
important form of expression.We are
naturally and instinctively drawn to
certain tones of colour and our choices
can reflect elements of our true
personalities.”
Gregory Schembri of Leitz added
that introducing colourful desk
accessories is a quick and easy way to
give your workplace a lift.
“It’s not always possible to
redecorate an entire office to the
perfect colour palette, but small
changes can be made to introduce
colour and enjoy its benefits. The Leitz
WOW range combines productivity
boosting colour with practical office
equipment, seamlessly integrating
colour into everyday office life and
expenditure. The bold vivid shades
mean the colours can still have
the desired impact, even in small
measures,” he said.
Improvements
all round
The PenWarehouse has expanded its
range of promotional pens with the
launch of a new multifunctional model
perfect for tech savvy customers and
a new 360 degree-printable version of
the Contour Ballpen.
The new Contour Max Touch Ballpen
with Highlighter retains the sculpted
aesthetics of the original Contour
Ballpen but also includes a stylus and
highlighter for true multifunctionality.
The touch nib of the Contour Max
Touch Ballpen doubles as a stylus when
the refill is retracted and is compatible
with both capacitive and resistive touch
screen phones and tablets. The other
end of the refillable twist action ballpen
incorporates a handy yellow highlighter.
The PenWarehouse’s other
innovation, the Contour Wrap, is similar
to the standard Contour Ballpen but
with a printable area that wraps right
around the barrel, enabling customers to
reproduce photo quality images in 360
degrees.
