Large
venue
projector
Featuring built-in Texas Instruments XPR
technology, the Acer P8800 projector delivers
an UltraHD 4K experience, with more than 8.3
million on-screen pixels, four times that of a
Full HD screen. Suitable for larger spaces and
public venues, the projector has up to 5,000
lumens of brightness and a contrast ratio of
1,200,00:1, enabling it to project clear, vivid
images in all light conditions, regardless of
throw distance or venue size.
Mixed reality
Dell was one of many vendors to
showcase a headset for Windows
Mixed Reality. The Dell Visor features a
flip-up visor for convenient transitions;
well-cushioned head and face padding;
thumbwheel band adjustment for any
head size; a weight balanced headband
to take pressure off nose and cheeks; and
cable management that routes cords
to the back of the headband for better
freedom of movement. Dell Visor takes
advantage of the same technology used
in the Microsoft HoloLens, including
inside-out tracking cameras, with a
360-degree panoramic view.
Office wayfinding
The Nimway smart office solution, a product of
Sony’s Seed Acceleration Program (SAP), uses
mobile applications and digital floorplans to help
staff locate colleagues, find available meeting
rooms and navigate their way around large offices.
Pay-as-you-go print
Introduced for the first time in Europe,
Epson’s ReadyInk technology powers a
new pay-as-you-go ink replenishment
service with no monthly subscription
fees. Epson monitors your ink usage
and automatically supplies a new
cartridge before your existing one runs
out. Check online to see if your printer
is supported.
Right priorities
Dell’s new Inspiron 7000 line of 13 and 15in 2-in-1s feature FHD IPS
touch displays that support active pen for
digital drawing, writing and note taking
and SmartByte streaming technology,
which prioritises movie streaming and
conferencing over other network
activities. The 2-in-1s feature 8th
Generation Intel Core processors,
DDR4 memory and flexible
connectivity options including
USB Type-C with support for
DisplayPort and Power Delivery.
