Affordable single line
wireless headsets
Sennheiser Communications has launched single
line variants of its DW wireless headset series for
customers who don’t need to switch between
desk phone and soft phone connectivity. The
new models – one for use with a desk phone and
the other for use with a soft phone – are more
affordable as a result. The DW series allows users
to make and take calls when walking around the
office and includes interesting features such as the
ability to pair a headset with someone else’s base
unit and join in a call.

Cheaper short code
Teleconferencing provider Powwownow
and short code specialist Orca Digital
are introducing a new short code
(87373) that gives all mobile users a
fixed rate charge of 12.5p per minute
for conference calling with Powwownow
regardless of what network they use.
Before, mobile short codes tended to
be fixed at a high rate of around £2 per
minute.

Search multiple clouds
Simplexo has overcome the problem
of finding emails and documents
stored in multiple cloud locations
such as Dropbox, Microsoft Exchange,
SharePoint, Outlook.com and, later
in the year, Google Drive, EverNote
and Sky Drive. Its SearchYourCloud
app allows anyone to use a PC or iOS
device to conduct ‘full-text’ searches
and retrieve files quickly and securely.
Instead of creating a direct network
connection between a mobile device
and host computer/network, data
is synchronised to a cloud provider
where it is fully encrypted to AES 256
and can be securely accessed from a
tablet, smartphone or Windows PC.
SearchYourCloud also has the ability to
automatically delete ‘Off-Line’ files from
a mobile device after a pre-set time.

Security is the key
Securikey has added a high security key cabinet to its range of
security products. The Key Safe 80 combines secure storage and
effective key management based on an index card, key tabs, rings
and numbers.
In addition to 81 key hooks, the Key Safe 80 has 15 closed loop hooks
on the inside of the door. These can be used with supplied tamper-
resistant seals to securely fasten selected keys and ensure they aren’t
removed without authorisation.
The Key Safe 80 has a 3mm steel body, a 6mm slab door mounted on
concealed hinges, twin locking bolts and an electronic lock as standard.
