Cover Story
Here at Danwood we are a leading
independent supplier of print and
document solutions, with more than
40 years’ experience in meeting the
printing needs of private and public
sector organisations, large and small,
throughout the UK and Ireland.
We supply the widest range of
equipment from leading Multifunctional
Printer (MFP) manufacturers, enabling us
to provide every customer with the best
equipment for their needs. Sometimes
this will be a homogeneous fleet from a
single supplier and sometimes a mix of
devices from multiple manufacturers. In
all cases however we will recommend a
bespoke solution for each customer.
Our independence is of great value
to us as a provider of managed print
services. Our ability to supply and support
a diverse range of print devices means
that new customers don’t have to install
a completely new fleet of devices but can
re-use some of their existing machines
in an optimised print infrastructure. This
protects the investment they have already
made in print hardware and helps keep
down costs.
Importantly, our independence is
achieved without compromising our
relationships with MFP manufacturers.
Indeed, the enduring strength of our
partnerships gives us a clear competitive
advantage.
Our importance to our MFP
manufacturers gives us access to both
competitive pricing and ensures that
our customers are among the first to
learn about, and benefit from, new
developments in office printing.
Partnering with KYOCERA
Just over two years ago, we established
a new relationship with KYOCERA
Document Solutions, which this year
is celebrating its first 25 years in the
UK and has just opened a dedicated
Technology Suite in Manchester,
modelled on its existing solutions centre
in London.
KYOCERA is famous for its ECOSYS
printing technology, which uses long-
lasting components to reduce the total
cost of ownership and environmental
impact of its devices. Because the
drums and fusers used in its printers
are designed to last for the lifetime of a
machine, the only consumable is toner.
This arrangement is more economical
and less wasteful than all-in-one
cartridges that must be replaced in their
entirety as soon as the toner runs out.
KYOCERA’s commitment to resource
efficiency extends to its MFPs, which also
use durable components and have been
designed with the minimum number of
parts necessary. As a result, its devices are
extremely reliable and cheaper to service
and maintain, leading to a reduced total
cost of ownership.
How Danwood and KYOCERA are helping businesses reduce
print costs and the environmental impact of office printing
Independent thinking
In every respect, KYOCERA MFPs are
state-of-the-art print devices, with all
the productivity and versatility a business
customer requires, including a broad
portfolio of solutions designed to run on
the embedded HyPAS software platform.
KYOCERA’s approach has proved very
popular at a time when organisations
in both the public and private sectors
have sought to reduce print costs and
their carbon footprint. The combination
of KYOCERA’s green credentials and its
award-winning printers and MFPs has
helped the company achieve organic
growth of 77% in the last three years
alone.
Danwood Print Ecology
Some of this growth has most definitely
been generated by Danwood customers.

In 2011 Danwood became the print sponsor for the Institute of Directors’
flagship central London premises. Using the IoD’s prestigious Pall Mall
facilities to launch their Print Ecology range of copiers and printers,
Danwood have ensured that IoD members have enjoyed access to an
unprecedented range of print services. With multiple print devices spread
over the two sites, members are able to print, copy and scan, guaranteeing
they make the most of working at the IoD.
Ian Sparrow, Director of Hospitality, Institute of Directors
It was all about cost per print for us.
Danwood took away all the stress of
managing printers and cartridges.
Interestingly, the 31% cost saving
we achieved doesn’t tell the full
story on how much time this has
actually saved us.
