The DW Series
Sennheiser’s DW Series of wireless
headsets provides the perfect solution
for office workers needing mobility,
allowing them to answer and participate
in calls on their deskphone when
away from their desk. A key feature of
the DW Series is the electronic hook
switch, enabling remote operations of
compatible handsets from a number of
leading manufacturers. Users benefit
from enhanced flexibility while handling
key functions remotely such as answering
and ending calls, adjusting the volume or
muting the headset, making call handling
a great deal easier.
DW Series headsets offer 180 metre
range (line of sight), 12 hours of talk
time and fast charging, with four hours
talk time in just ten minutes and full
charge in one hour. The DW family also
supports both deskphone and softphone
connection, with simple switching
between both at the press of a button.
An innovative feature is the ability to pair
the headset quickly to someone else’s
base unit and join a call in an impromptu
conference.
The DW wireless headphone
series, offer integration with unified
communication telephony solutions such
as Microsoft Lync, IBM Sametime and
Cisco Communicator.
With the rapid increase in IP based
telephony, the DW series also offers true
wideband audio when connected to PC
softphones or IP desk phones increasing
the frequency spectrum to give better
sound quality and speech recognition.
This is achieved by advanced speaker and
microphone designs, developed to meet
theWideband TIA 920 standard required
by many manufacturers of phone
systems and handsets.
Wearing comfort is another critical
consideration, particularly in contact
centre environments where agents may
be wearing the headset for eight hours a
day or more. Sennheiser has undertaken
extensive ergonomic research to ensure
that the design of its DW series wireless
headsets provides all day wearing
comfort.
Unique headset design features
Sennheiser professional headsets have
some unique design features that provide
significant advantages for staff in public
facing roles using the telephone.
One of the most important
advantages of Sennheiser headsets is
the company’s patented ActiveGard
technology. It’s an unfortunate fact
that public facing staff can suffer
from malicious calls, which are usually
harmless. But there are also aggressive
calls made with the intention of hurting
and possibly permanently harming the
staff member’s hearing. Blowing whistles
or using more sophisticated electronic
devices to deliver an acoustic shock are
rare occurrences, but can be devastating
for the recipient.
ActiveGard technology is embedded
in all Sennheiser telecoms headsets
and detects unsafe audio levels
and compresses the signal within
milliseconds. ActiveGard doesn’t just
reduce, but rather removes dangerous
energy from an acoustic burst,
eliminating the distortion from an
excessive incoming signal and keeping
the volume of a sound peak at a safe and
comfortable level to protect the user’s
hearing.
A busy office or can also be a noisy
place and to address this Sennheiser’s
range of corded and wireless headset
solutions feature high performance ultra-
noise cancelling microphones to filter
out unwanted background noise. The
benefits to office workers of high quality
sound and the elimination of external
noise which are offered by Sennheiser
headsets cannot be overstated. The
resulting improvement in intelligibility
can greatly improve call efficiency,
saving valuable time by reducing the risk
of misunderstanding and average call
duration.

What customers and partners say
At Orange we were looking for a wireless headset
solution that could provide our staff with greater
mobility and call efficiency. During our search we had
a trial of Sennheiser’s DW series wireless headsets and
were really pleased with this product and the feedback
provided by our frontline staff.
We have seen some huge improvements in terms of
our targets/efficiencies with reduced hold to customers
and decreased call times giving us some fantastic
savings whilst also helping to improve our service levels.
Overall we couldn’t be more pleased with the
products and the services provided. The support
we have received in setting up these products in
our contact centres has been superb with a very
professional approach, a great understanding of the
products but with a feel good element around the
whole experience. As the overall project manager for
this I fully support their entry.
