Prestige writing instruments aid growth
Latest research from GfK reports that fountain pens have experienced
triple digit growth online of 124% so far in 2013 compared with 2012.
Over the same period, the overall market for prestige writing instruments
enjoyed a 17.1% year-on-year increase in online sales (by volume), as
consumers changed buying habits and went online to search for the best deals.
Sales of prestige writing instruments have helped the online stationery
market to grow by 8.4% (in value) and 3.3% (in volume) in the first two months
of 2013.

granted the Queens Award for
Enterprise in International Trade
for its impressive growth in
manufacturing and exporting over
the last three years.
The company, which has offices
across the UK, in Europe and the
US, was selected because of its

sales by 44%, following a rise of 31%

BritainWriting’ campaign follows
the recent government decision to
reintroduce handwriting onto the
secondary school curriculum.
The National Literacy Trust spread
the ‘Get BritainWriting’ message to
over 35,000 teachers and libraries
through its newsletter, on its website,
on Twitter and Facebook and via
its Words for Life campaign which
targets parents of 0-11 year olds.
