TRIMMERS & GUILLOTINES
...continued
Cutting edge
To meet diverse usage needs, vendors
typically offer a range of sizes, from
home/small office models to heavy duty
ones for larger office environments.
Although trimmer/guillotine
functionality is fairly straightforward,
manufacturers continue to update their
ranges to provide users with a better
experience, safer operation, more
precision and increased productivity
in the office.
n
Avery has relaunched its
trimmers and guillotines
with a number of new features.
Guillotines now have a patented blade
cover that moves with the blade, ensuing
that it is never exposed, and the cutter
heads on Avery trimmers now have a
viewing window to improve cutting
accuracy.
n
Rexel is making use of laser light
technology to maximise precision on the
Rexel ClassicCut CL410 and ClassicCut
CL420 Guillotines and is also
increasing sheet-cutting capacity
so that users can be more
productive.
n
Swordfish has increased
sheet capacity on its trimmers.
For example, the Ellipse-500,
featuring a geared crank-handle that
makes it easier to push the blade
through more paper, can now cut up to
30 sheets of paper with ease.
n
On the basis that safety and
ergonomics are the most important
aspects when buying cutting machines,
German office equipment manufacturer
HSM has designed the handle and
cutting head on its guillotines and
trimmers for optimum handling. Stefanie
Keller, Public Relations at HSM, said: “We
have some clever solutions integrated
into our cutting machines, including a
solid and stable stand, a safety lock, a
foldable protective shield and a cutting
blade cover. This hides the cut edge and
prevents users getting hurt by the knife
when cutting and carrying or moving the
machine.”
n
Elcomann equips all its KOBRA
guillotines with SUPER CUT high grade
carbon steel blades that provide long
lasting cutting.
Creative cutting
With a choice of four
cutting styles – straight,
wave cut, perforated or
scored – the SmartCut A425
is a versatile A4 trimmer ideal for
creative and professional use. Use it to
add a fold, tear-off slip or decorative edge to
invoices, invitations, cards and other material.
The blade style can be changed with the turn
of a dial.
Non-slip trimmer
Edge Series paper trimmers from
Swordfish can cut up to 10
sheets of 80gsm paper at
a time. The Series
features a strong
metal base with
non-slip rubber feet,
a long-lasting blade and
a paper format guide printed
on the base to aid alignment. The series
includes an A3 and A4 trimmer.
Handy side openings
Kobra’s 320-R rotary trimmer is a
light desktop model with side
openings that let you cut
paper sizes larger
than the
rated
cutting
width.
The
sharpened carbon
steel blade is easy to replace by pressing the
push-button mechanism.
New Trimmers
Portable trimmer
The Avery A4 Office Trimmer
(A4TR) is a portable trimmer
ideal for regular paper
trimming in the office. It is
lightweight and has carry
handles that make it easy to
move around the office. TUV
GS and BS marks on Avery’s
trimmers and guillotine are
testament to the company’s
manufacturing and safety
standards.
Compact
and mobile

professional use, the T3310
from HSM’s Cutline T series is a compact rotary
trimmer. Its self-sharpening blade and built-in
contact pressure system stop the paper from
moving and ensure precision cuts. The T3310
also has a carrying handle for mobile use and is
suitable for wall mounting.
