Telephone answering service
Moneypenny has launched a new digital
receptionist for small businesses. Called
Penelope, the app uses sophisticated
technology and call routing to provide
small businesses with telephone support
and call management. On the basis that 85% of business callers
know the name of the person they want to speak to, Penelope
uses Voice Recognition to listen to the caller request and connect
the call to the right person. A useful call routing function lets you
choose where you want incoming calls to be routed – to a mobile,
home phone, colleague’s phone or to a Moneypenny PA who can
take calls on your behalf. Penelope costs between £21 and £39.

Transfer calls with a
swipe
Jabra’s new Bluetooth headset,
the Jabra Motion UC, is the first
to support Siemens Enterprise
Communications’ OpenScape Mobile
Call Swipe feature that enables a
user to move a conversation from an
office phone or laptop to a mobile
phone and back again with a simple
swipe of the finger.
Jabra Motion is designed for the
growing group of mobile workers who
multi-task at the office, in the car and
at home using smart phones, tablets or
laptops with ‘presence’ apps and Unified
Communication (UC) solutions.
It is compatible with all mobile
devices and UC platforms and
incorporates Near Field Communication
(NFC) technology so that you can
pair the headset with an NFC-enabled
device with a simple tap.
Through a combination of motion
sensors and intelligent microphones,
Jabra Motion adapts to any
environment, ensuring optimal sound
quality whether you are in a noisy
office or on the road. It automatically
answers a call when the headset is
picked up, adjusts speaker volume when
you start walking and powers down
when it is put down.
The Jabra Motion has a tried and
tested ‘behind the ear’ design and a
foldable boom allowing it to be carried
in a pocket without risk of damage.
