Digital highlighter
Like a tablet, only bigger
Zero Bezel large format multi-touch LED displays from DisplayLite
offer the same sleek ‘look and feel’ and engaging interactive
experience as iPads, iPhones and other handhelds but in screen sizes
of up to 84 inches.
The displays are fully compliant withWindows 8 and instantly respond
to two digit scrolling, flicks, pinch zoom and other complex gestures, as
well as edge swipes that require a high level of edge detection.
With no bezel to worry about, designers can extend their designs
across the whole screen area, whereas previously they had to avoid
positioning icons too close to frame edges.
The first three models in the range, with screen sizes of 40, 46 and 55
inches, can be table- or wall-mounted and support up to 10 simultaneous
touch points. If required, they can be customised at the manufacturing
stage to support 40 simultaneous touches and can be specified with a user
logo or in a different colour.
Zero Bezel displays combine NEC superslim LED full HD backlit
displays, DisplayLite custom-made cases with multi-touch screen sensors
and drive electronics from Zytronics.
Because the touch screen sensor matrix is embedded on the inside face
of the screen, it is unaffected by scratches or wear on the external surface;
can be used with glass up to 12 mm thick for increased impact resistance;
and works with gloved or ungloved hands.

Mitsubishi has introduced a cloud projector that can be operated without
being connected to a computer. TheWD390U-EST ultra-short throw
projector has a built-in thin client that allows users to access files directly
through the device. As long as the projector is connected and logged on
to a network and a Bluetooth-enabled keyboard and mouse, teachers and
presenters can access and display content from a local server, the internet
or the cloud. Alternatively, Free SidePad andWiFi Doc applications let
tablet and smartphone users access, mirror and control a computer
connected to the projector and the sameWi-Fi network and present
Office, text and JPG files from their iOS or Android devices directly
through the projector.
