Pure style
Swissvoice ePure handsets for mobile
phones, PCs and tablets combine the
comfort of a traditional telephone
and reduced exposure to potentially
harmful RF emissions with HD voice
quality and an eye-catching design.
The handsets are available with a
weighted base (the CH01) for home or office-based users or
without one (the CH05) for use on the go and connect to all
devices via a 3.5mm jack (adaptors are available).
A ‘Made for iPhone’ switch on the side of the handset
lets Apple customers use ‘Siri’ from their Swissvoice handset.
Once activated, Siri can be accessed by holding down the
pickup/hang-up button and speaking directly into the
CH01/CH05. iPhone users also have the choice of adjusting
speaker volume using controls on the Swissvoice handset or
the iPhone itself.
The CH01 (£39.99) and CH05 (£34.99) come in plain
white or white with details in a choice of hot pink, sunset
orange, sky blue and bright green. Both products can be
purchased from Amazon.co.uk or iwantoneofthose.com.

All your contacts at a glance
Swyx has added a ‘Visual Contacts’ option to the
Swyxware unified communication system that
integrates contact information from CRM, ERP,
SQL databases as well as individual customer
systems based on Microsoft Access or Excel. The
integration of all contacts in a single user interface
lets users search for relevant contacts via the
SwyxWare interface rather than having to open up
separate applications, and enables more incoming
calls to be identified by contact information.

Keeping business on hold
Almost seven out of 10 callers to UK businesses are put on hold for longer than one minute,
according to an ICM survey of 2,000 consumers for audio branding specialists PH Media Group;
and 70% are put on hold in more than half the calls they make to businesses.
The survey suggests businesses aren’t making the most of time customers spend on hold, with 73%
of consumers saying they want to hear something more than beeps or silence while they wait.
PH Media sales and marketing director MarkWilliamson said: “On-hold marketing allows customers
to be provided with targeted messages, offering relevant information on anything from opening times
to product launches or seasonal offers.”
He added that the fact 60% of consumers are in front of their computers when making calls gives
businesses further scope to market themselves.
“If 60% of callers are sat in front of a computer, a simple message directing enquiries towards a
company’s website could prove particularly effective,” he said.

Maximum signal
strength, minimum
radiation
Pong iPad and smartphone cases do
much more than protect devices from
damage. They also boost 3G/4G mobile
signal strength, maintain battery life and
protect users from exposure to radiation
by up to 95% below international
safety limits. The secret, according to
Pong Research Corporation, is a multi-
patented antenna system that uses
electromagnetic fields to redirect
radiation away from the user’s
head and body, while still
protecting signal strength.
Pong cases are available
for the iPad and iPhone,
Blackberry and Android
smartphones. They
come in a range
of colours and
finishes and
cost from
